    Wyoming Mule Deer Population Health

You should look over the Wyoming deer surveys. They call them "Job Completion Reports." https://wgfd.wyo.gov/hunting-trapping/job-completion-reports

    First time for Montana

I say this as a NR, but in circumstances like this, Montana should not be issuing "any deer" type tags to NR's. It should be buck only. Think they should also limit doe harvest to R's but that will be less palatable. NR's should give up all doe opportunity before R's give up any, but both...

Looking for a Wyoming resident hunting partner

Alternatively, move there with wealth accumulated elsewhere, buy up real estate, and vote progressively in local and state elections.

    Score this buck

Man I dunno, big! The way he lays out he will score very well.

    Proud dad moment

Kansas has no age restrictions for kids. I could take an infant deer hunting and have them pull the trigger. There's some good memes on this topic.

    Proud dad moment

I'm a young dad, my kids are only 10 and 6, and I do try to really get some lasting consistent experience before forming and certainly sharing an opinion, but I think I'm ready to share this: those longer duration pieces of 1 on 1 time are really valuable for parent/child relationships. They...

    3x3s Worth Shooting Picture Thread

I only shot this one because I had my 6 year old with me. I think most situations I wouldn't even go after him. He's a cool buck though, heavy. I don't think he would have gotten much bigger, decent chance he was on the way down due to age.

2024 OFFICIAL Mule deer meat pole thread

This weekend I took my 6 year old on her first rip to western Kansas. Hunted 3 days for one stalk and thankfully was able to make it count. She was with me every step, including hands and knees crawling for the last 100 yards, getting him into game bags, and the pack out (2 trips!). Easily...

    Ground hunting pressured whitetails

I know this is a whitetail thread, but I've posted a few times about hunting western KS where we hunt both species as if they were the same. It's all glass 'em up, and spot and stalk on the public. I took my 6 year old with me this weekend. That's a long drive for a 6 year old, let alone all...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

It is an older number, maybe 5 or 6 years old, and I'm sure it has grown since then. Regardless, it has been my experience across 3 archery hunts there the R's don't really get after it with a bow. Montanans put them to shame as far as effort, Coloradans as far as skill.

    What did you sew today?

Do you find that the labor is the bottleneck of a small sewing business, like manufacturer type business?

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

The reason Wyoming is so attractive is because most residents don't bow hunt (only like 7%) and those that do aren't very good at it. NR's can come in and clean house. I guess if I was a Wyoming resident I'd want to keep others away, too.

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

This isn't a resource issue, it's a safety issue. The Wyoming Wilderness is dangerous, and that's why unguided NR's aren't allowed to hunt big game in it.

Could the Hearing Protection Act pass now?

Well, not sure if this is a good data point or not, I think not good, but John Thune is Senate Majority Leader, and he did not co-sponsor this bill.
