I used to be. Older browning a-bolt 300 win mag. I added quite a few since then but now I’m trying to get back to one gun with a tikka t3 lite 7mm rem mag.
I picked up a Montana Knife Company Blackfoot 2.0 instead. Good size for my style and crazy sharp with good edge retention. I still think the bucks are also good value for the price.
Works great. I just did one. Be very careful though, that tip is crazy sharp. I stuck it in the knuckle of my thumb down to the bone without much force.
I’ll add that I’m in Colorado and don’t live in my rain gear so I have not tested durability or wetting out with lots of movement and a pack over extended wet periods. It meets my colorado needs for rain and snow.
My kit includes small packs of the tissues and several individually wrapped wet wipes. Use both. I like to find a downed tree to lean against so I can get the best geometry. Kick out a hole, go in the hole from a downed root wad, and/or cover with rocks or big pieces of bark.
Pronghorns were warm and comfortable but leaked bad. Danner East Ridge are American made. They seem warm and comfortable and didn’t leak but I never truly tested their water resistance before I moved to scarpa kinesis pro for western hunting.
