    The One Gun Hunter

I used to be. Older browning a-bolt 300 win mag. I added quite a few since then but now I’m trying to get back to one gun with a tikka t3 lite 7mm rem mag.

    New Buck Alpha Scout Pro

I picked up a Montana Knife Company Blackfoot 2.0 instead. Good size for my style and crazy sharp with good edge retention. I still think the bucks are also good value for the price.

    MKC knife reviews......in progress!

Works great. I just did one. Be very careful though, that tip is crazy sharp. I stuck it in the knuckle of my thumb down to the bone without much force.

Sitka dewpoint vs OR Foray vs Forloh airalight

I’ll add that I’m in Colorado and don’t live in my rain gear so I have not tested durability or wetting out with lots of movement and a pack over extended wet periods. It meets my colorado needs for rain and snow.

    Toilet paper or wet wipes?

My kit includes small packs of the tissues and several individually wrapped wet wipes. Use both. I like to find a downed tree to lean against so I can get the best geometry. Kick out a hole, go in the hole from a downed root wad, and/or cover with rocks or big pieces of bark.

    Which Danners are the best?

Pronghorns were warm and comfortable but leaked bad. Danner East Ridge are American made. They seem warm and comfortable and didn’t leak but I never truly tested their water resistance before I moved to scarpa kinesis pro for western hunting.

    Organizing Stand Up Freezer

Mine’s chaos right now. Part of a mule deer, part of a whitetail, some perch and crappie fillets, and now 100# of salmon, halibut, and rockfish. And….I have a moose hunt coming up. Might need some help from you guys. I didn’t want to give up my late season elk/mule deer hunt either. I do...

Thanks. I use one of the marine surplus mid weight fleece over wool layers and it works great for warmth to weight.

    Late season fleece options

I think you’re incorrect on pretty much all points and you don’t know what still hunting is. I backpack hunt also but there is plenty of discussion on this forum for non backpack hunt oriented gear and tactics. If you don’t have input to the question asked, no need to reply. My question is...
