That’s wild. I cancelled on the 350 Roughtech Specter on 8/15 when the EuroOptic rep told me (after talking to the Beretta rep) that they were minimum 5 weeks out. Now they show in stock. I was 2nd on the order list, lol. What a s-show. Maybe they’ll send it anyway as I haven’t yet seen my refund.
Bear Creek never responded to my inquiry on compatibility, but I saw on one of their videos that they modified a Tikka mag for their tipped ammo. I’ll start bugging them by phone and see where that lands.
Have the cheap T3x lite compact. Cancelled on the 2024 Roughtech Specter due to shipping...
Strasser, Blaser, Heym, Merkel, Sauer, Lynx, Chapuis Rols, Anshutz, Roessler, Steel, Beretta, Haenel. There’s some interesting and amazing actions to explore. Easier overseas, lol.
Have two Tikkas, don’t find them super smooth. They are fine, but not so amazing as sometimes made out.
I’ve seen claimed where their CS hasn’t been the best too. One guy who seems to be quite a staunch UM advocate was getting quite the run around over his rifle action order, hope that worked out for him….And the RokStock has certainly involved some growing pains….So I’m not sure UM CS is a...
My take is, just report him if that’s how you feel. Worse crap happens about everyday on this forum. Mods can only do so much. At least the guy tried to address disagreements via PM. If PMs are inappropriate, send it to the Mods.
The Bowmar fanaticism is kind of obvious. There’s enough Bowmar...
Thanks for taking the time to film yourself.
Any measured difference in standing shot accuracy between the two? Your form is significantly different from one stock to the other when shooting offhand.
Stainless are stamped as such on the bottom of the action. I’d presume/hope MT knows that with all their experience with these guns. That he didn’t pull the action out of the stock to look blows my mind.
Anyone have experience with Hornaday Black 150gr Interlock (on deer)?
Or
Able to share the answer on whether or not Bear Creek 140gr HV pointed tip ammo works in Tikka magazines (stock or modified)?
Apples to apples, same dimensions and weight stacked on top of each other is going to suck for stability.
Torque caused by weight further away from back is totally real though.
Just the demonstration you’ve put forth is a bit exaggerated, imo.
Nice rifles for the money, but it seems like the lines are unclear between stainless steel barreled actions and “stainless cerekote” finish. I think the stainless XTA was a stainless steel barreled action, but only sold in Europe? In the US, can’t tell if any are actually stainless steel. Seems not.
For shots of 150yds and closer on deer, I’d like to hear more on the ELDs vs soft points. Why choose an ELD-M or ELD-X when they cost more? Let’s say in a 20-22” 6.5 Creedmoor, something common enough to make the discussion broader than Giraffe hunting. Not that Giraffe isn’t interesting, but...
Tikka sells rifles with 16” barrels. The 20” threaded Tikkas are actually 19” barrel lengths, at least the ones’s I’ve seen. I doubt those barrels are “engineered” any differently than the rest.
He didn’t even recommend a broadhead, so listen to what? Guy asked for a recommendation, not a lecture. If the lecture came with a recommendation, it’d have been more productive.
Imo, you can get stuff similar to the Fanatic line for less money in articles by other companies. For example, Scentlok’s Revenant Pro jacket. I like the Fanatic coat’s built in hand muff since I wear thin glomets, but it isn’t a super warm hand muff like some of the accessory muffs. Outside the...
