I love the versatility of this bag. I had Pods8 (a Rokslide sponsor) sew me a camp bag. It was very reasonably priced. So now, the Nomad is basically the same as the Fulcrum, but I can just remove my camp bag and have an awesome day pack. It’s simple and fast.
30 16 22. Got it. But yeah, I think that would work out perfectly for what you’re trying to do. The Shapecharge can be attached to a frame pretty easily. Below are some photos of my saddle setup with the Nomad and a Sherman. I have 4 Lone Wolf sticks and a predator platform attached to...
When it gets really cold and I don’t want 50 layers, I just wear my Milwaukee heated vest. You can get one for like $100. Turn the battery on and you’re toasty for hours.
The Shapecharge with a Sherman works awesome for saddle hunting. I can’t seem to find the pictures now, but maybe I can add them later. My saddle fits perfectly into the Sherman. I strap 2 Lone Wolf sticks to each side of the pack. Then I tuck my saddle platform under the Sherman leaving...
Yup. I was there the week of the storm. It cut my trip short. Had 3 broadside at 26 yards. Problem was they were 10 yards onto private. Stalked to within 16 yards of them. If they go right, the big one dies. But like deer seem to always do, they went left. Stared at me for 10...
I started saddle hunting this year too. Walk back quite a ways. Love my Kifaru tactical frame with the Nomad bag to carry it all in. Saddle fits perfectly in the Sherman. Probably a bit overkill, but gives me the option to pack out a deer too.
I’m left handed with a dominant right eye. Started shooting a bow when I was probably 4 years old. Had zero idea that there was a proper form. I shot left handed, turned my head, and used my right eye. I was actually a really good shot that way too. Around the age of 18 I found out that...
1) For whitetail - Tethrd Saddle and platform. Love not having to pack in a hang-on stand anymore.
2) Kifaru tactical frame with the Nomad 2. Walking around with weight, has never been as comfortable as this.
3) Lowa Camino boots. Not really a game changer. Nice boots. And the...
I love my Shape Charge for whitetail. I run a Sherman on the back. The Sherman fits a saddle perfectly, and I carry 4 climbing sticks. 2 on each side using the compression straps from the Sherman to secure them. My platform sits in between the Sherman and the pack.
Awesome story! You ran into a good dude. Always encouraging when someone takes the time to pass on some knowledge to a fellow hunter. State lines didn’t matter to that guy. Love it!
I shoot a 2004 Mathews Outback. That thing has killed a lot of deer. It will be a sad day once I finally upgrade. It’s the only bow I’ve shot in the last 15 years. Scared to try a new bow, because I’m sure I’ll instantly want one.
No. I'm not saying I use it in the tree or believe that the amount of ozone emitted by one of those portable contraptions is even enough to make a difference in the wild. What I'm asking is running an ozone generator inside a small contained area, like a 5'x5' box safe for the pack. Ozone...
I've got a Shapecharge that I've been hiking with all summer. Has anyone used an ozone generator to eliminate smells on a pack? They're expensive as hell, so I obviously don't want to ruin it. I've had good results in the past using ozone on clothes, gear, etc. I know, I know. Play the...
