Past year I had a mystery ranch treehouse but wasn’t sold on it. I sold it and have been going back and forth between a shape charge or antero. I’m stuck and down know which pack to get. The shape charge looks big and bulky and I don’t need a big bulky pack. Could some of you guys and girls help give me some insight maybe post a picture of the pack? Thanks!!

I currently use the Antero and love it. I bought the belt and put 2 medium pouches just to organize releases, rangefinder, etc. Definitely not bulky but can fit extra layers for October/November.

Is it easy getting stuff in and out of when it’s hanging next to you in a tree stand? Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I haven’t had a problem with it. The zippers go all the way down so you can open it up as wide as needed. The nalgene pockets are nice to keep a hand saw/bow hanger for easy access.

I bought the Shapecharge off a member here before my elk hunt this year and used it for my day pack. It was hands down the best day pack I’ve ever used compared to my Tenzing 2220 day pack and the old cheap bass pro packs I’ve bought before. The layout works well for keeping the different gear better organized. With the two water bottle holders well that’s what I used them for was perfect and easy to grab a water during a long walk. I had food , water , rain gear and small emergency items I carried during my hunt and you couldn’t tell it was back there most of the time. All the little pockets where just the right size. I’d recommend this pack any day of the week.

I love my Shape Charge for whitetail. I run a Sherman on the back. The Sherman fits a saddle perfectly, and I carry 4 climbing sticks. 2 on each side using the compression straps from the Sherman to secure them. My platform sits in between the Sherman and the pack.

Would you say the Tenzing 2200 is bigger than the shape charge in overall bulk? I had that tenzing pack and got rid of it for that reason.

Yes the Tenzing is bigger and can’t compress down as well as the Shapecharge can. You really feel the difference and quality between the packs and workmanship on them. They are like night and day to me.
