    Brass SSK .458x260CF Sabotless Bullet

I am now second guessing myself!! Because of the way the base (powder cup) of the bullet is constructed I am not sure these bullets will function as a sabotless 45 cal. bullet. At this point I am not sure why SSK put the .458x260 label on these bullets. As already mentioned in another...

Another Trip to the Rock Pit with a new Brass bullet

Thursday 6-1, I made an escape from Moscow and drove out to the Rock Pit to do same shooting. It is great recreation!!! The goal was to shoot the new brass bullet that Dave put up on the SSK web site. .458 CALIBER, 265GR, FRACTURING HUNTING MUZZLELOADER BULLET WITH HARVESTER CRUSH RIB SABOT...

CVA with #11 musket caps ??

Not sure you can change to #11's with a CVA, I believe CVA uses a 1-piece breech plug. I do not think you have the option to replace the Musket nipple with the #11 nipple.

Knight Ultralite barrel and Timney Trigger

With that trigger that is the normal thing you would see. At the front of the trigger body you see the small mound that forces the trigger down ward when tightened.

    Knight Ultralite Order Mistake

Justin has moved on from his former position, I would suggest you contact via email Steve at Knight. He is now the man in charge. Take the time to share with him all the information. I think you really might get some help from him. mike

Purchasing first muzzleloader need advice please

I really think you are on the right track with the thought of a Knight Ultra Lite. The Colorado version allows you to shoot 209 primers as well as any powder you might want to use. A lot of people prefer BH-209 but at the current price of 209 I shoot T7 and deal with the formation of a 'crud...

    Knight Ultralite 50 caliber

I have not found this to be the case when shooting T7. It IS corrosive but not near as corrosive as other BP subs. I use to use t7 A LOT and nver found cleaning a barrel an immediate need. It really depends on the the humidy or if the bore was exposed to water. It will react quicker in Blued...

    Knight Ultralite 50 caliber

Correct - that really works well for several of us. No, I have not shot the 445 at all. I did order some Bull Shop 350 grain lead conicals and shot them. they shot really well. I thought I might use them on deer. But, I remained with the 400 for elk and deer. It really is to big for deer, in...

    Knight Ultralite 50 caliber

Know I really do not experience a leading problem. I attribute that to the NASA lube that Dan uses on his bullets. If you are igniting with caps you really do not need to patch after a shot or several shots. If you are using a 209 ignition then at some point a damp patch will be needed...

    Knight Ultralite 50 caliber

That is the correct product.. This is a 400 LGP recovered from elk at 160 yards The sub base has worked great for me shooting any non sabotless full bore bullets with T7 or BH

    Knight Ultralite 50 caliber

I use that bullet and it has really performed well for several of us. But, I shoot it with a 100 grains of T7 using a MMP Sub-base under the bullet as a wad.

    Blackhorn price

I tend to use far more T7-2f than 3f powder. In a sidelock with cap ignition I do prefer the T7-3f.

    Triple Seven

I would concur with Newtosavage. I use both powders a lot. There is no doubt that BH is more convenient than T7 and will produce greater velocities with the heavier bullets. In the case of a 300gr. bullet - 120 gr. V load of BH will create about a 150 fps more than a like amount of T7. But...

Rich that is a widely used combination for patching. It is especially good for winter use in the field while hunting. And that combination would not contain any ammonia.

    Triple Seven

O gosh YES! many years ago especially when shooting side hammers it was a regular routine! And it worked. But today I have moved way beyond that and I would like to believe - it is much faster easier and just as clean. + plus no real mess to clean up. Really not sure about that - the ammonia...

That is to bad... ammonia is a metal stripper and works very well getting T7 residue out. Here is a statement from Dan Lilja about the use of ammonia in a barrel Windex with ammoinia Dan Lilja of Lilja Precision Rifle barrels has never seen any damage in one of his barrels caused by the use...

    Remington 700 ML

It certainly should! I use just a plain Winchester W209 in my Knights which has a much longer breech plug. I think the key for you is keep the BP clean.
