    WTS Crispi Summit GTX, 14

Really good. The only reason I'm selling is cause they are a little small (length wise) with my custom orthotics.

What do you run under your Sawtooth?

    FL Uncompahgre 2.0

I bought the 2.0 for the exact time in MT and ID and hoping it will do well. The 1.0 vest has not failed me in the past with good base layers and a Sitka Jetstream. However, it's supposed to cool off and snow this weekend so I will report back after actually testing the 2.0 puffy (bought this...

    Central Idaho clothing

The Uncy is a very light insurance policy IMO. At a very minimum have it in the truck and take a look at the XX day forecast and make a game time decision.

Run what you brung or step up to high-end

Binos are something you will have for a long time and are a good investment out west. However, your bx-2's will spot game just fine. Higher quality will just be more comfortable. Just like First Lite is more comfy but doesn't kill elk any better. What power are your binos? It may be worth...

    44 Idaho Bull

I was lucky enough to draw the general 44 bull tag in Idaho. This is the first bull tag that I have every drawn so to say I'm excited is an understatement. I live in close and have logged quite a bit of time up in the country. With that said any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please help me choose a pack

Mystery Ranch Pop-up is worth a look. Very low profile with good suspension. I have the 28 and love it. It does the job when loaded with meat but def not the best. However, I'm like you, I spend about 95% of time walking with pack weighing 10-15 lbs and 5% with a heavy load. Your budget...

    First lite sawtooth

I've owned the Sawtooth for 3 seasons. I agree, it's a piece that's a bit odd but I have noticed it's with me all the time. From Sep-Nov in ID and MT. For me it just seems to work. Early season I put it on over my baselayer after hard hiking to stay warm. Late season I wear it hiking up...

    FL Uncompahgre 2.0

Sizing is aligned with the 2.0. I have the 1.0 vest in L and the 2.0 Jacket in XL and they fit very similar. I do like the updated 2.0 stretch a lot more. Have not had the chance to test it in cold weather but assuming it will be as warm if not warmer than the 1.0 that has never let me down.

2020 DIY Idaho Elk Hunt - 1st Year

As everyone has mentioned being in shape will make your trip much more enjoyable. With that said, make sure you have good boots and a good layering system. ID weather in Oct can vary greatly. Be prepared with good insulation if you are going to do the backpacking/country portion. Nights have...

    First Lite customer service

That's awesome they are doing that. They continue to impress me with their gear and their customer service is the best I have ever dealt with.

If you could choose any CO Muley season, which one and why?

Seems like a catch 22. I'd prefer later (3rd or 4th) due to the rut. However, they have been chased and pressured from the first two seasons. I'd always choose the rut tho.

    Newbie Elk Pack Advice

I'm a big fan of Mystery Ranch packs. I have the Beartooth 80 and pop-up 28. I think Scheels is having a good fathers day special, might be worth a look. Then again I've never heard anything bad about Exo.

Help! Fathers Day OK for first elk hunt

Get in the best hiking shape you can. As for the gear everyone on here is spot on. Boots will be what fit your feet best. Lowas work well for me but they are spendy and can take some break in time. Good luck!
