Pat, I think you would be better off with a Cimarron, especially if you plan to use a stove.

    First Lite Gaiter Sizing Issue

Interesting, they fit fine on my Salomon Quest 4D as well as Hoka trail runners which are huge and I wear a size 13. I have wore out 4-5 pairs of OR Flex-Tex over the years and like the FL's better,

    Trail Gaiters

The instep strap will probably outlast the gaiters. The problem with para it'd is it ices up it wet snow. I really like the FL.

It sounds like a Para Poncho. They weren't available for very long but that's what the description sounds like.

    superfeet arch support position issue

Could be that your arch length is different than your overall foot length. Get measured by a competent boot fitter with a Branock device.. You might need to size up on the Superfeet and trim more off the toe area.

    Lightweight axe/hatchet?

Generally I'd agree on the 2 lbs but after owning 8 or 10 GB axes including the Hunters and Small Forest the Outdoors Ax is my most used by far.

    Patagonia nano puff

The lifetime warranty is hard to beat. Last fall I sent in a 14 year old Patagonia rain coat that started to leak and a couple days later, I had a credit for $275.

    Lightweight axe/hatchet?

+1 on the Gannsfors Wildlife Hatchet not a lot heavier than the Mini but lots more useful.

    Sleeping pads

My favorite is the Thermarest NeoAir X-Therm. Get the XL so your arms don't lay on the ground. Well over 100 nights on mine so far.

Seek Outside 8 or 12 man Tipi

The room if the 12 man is very nice, just so long as the footprint isn't too big for where you hunt.
