Precision Hunter velocity variability between lots

I don't run a lot of ammo through a Chrono, but I will say that I have noticed a difference in accuracy between lots of precision Hunter. I own 2 .308 rifles and one box of precision Hunter I got shot just awful out of both guns.

Raffle Winning Choice: Sig Cross or CA FFT

Backfire on YouTube seems to be pretty high on the SIG Cross. I've heard awful things about Christensen.

Need rifle advice.. Thinking about selling my .308

I would just keep whatever rifle shoots the most accurately. Between those 3 calibers, there isn't much of an advantage out to the distances you want to shoot. Yes, 7mm will be nice and flat. But that really doesn't matter to me as I always range longer shots anyways. It is much more important...

    X-bolt or T3X?

In my experience yes, it does. My Tikka is not nicer. But like another said seems to be some variability.

    X-bolt or T3X?

    Hmm interesting. Mine is great.

    X-bolt or T3X?

I don't understand the gripe about the trigger on the original x bolt. A 10 dollar spring turns that trigger into something nicer than a stock Tikka trigger (don't get me wrong I like my Tikka better overall).

Why I would never buy a Tikka

1/9 Tikkas being a shooter is user error IMO. Heck 1/9 being shooters of a lot of brands is probably user error.

Any factory ammo recommendations for Browning x bolt?

That was my next choice, thank you.

Any factory ammo recommendations for Browning x bolt?

I have a .308 Browning x bolt hunter that I am having a bit of trouble dialing in. So far I have tried federal powershok 150, federal fusion, and Hornady black ammo. I can't get better than like a 3-4 inch 10 shot group. I have tried different scopes (night force and trijicon), re torqued the...

But you are considering a Christensen instead?

    Bergara opinions??

Go watch backfire's review of the Christensen mesa and tell me it has a nice action.... And is accurate.

    Bergara opinions??

Agreed. This forum leans towards Tikka more than other forums. But I still think forum surfing is better than taking the advice of your local Cabela's "expert". And if you can read enough you will notice patterns that will help you make your choice. I have read way too many bad things about...

    Bergara opinions??

Did you? I can't find the thread. Also, an x bolt is another decent option. I'm left handed and own a Tikka and a Browning. I like my Tikka more but my Browning does the job. Way too many QC issues with Christensen.

    Bergara opinions??

What don't you like about Tikka? Are cosmetics your highest priority? That's the only reason I can think of that someone would pick a Christensen. Their guns just suck.

    Handheld thermal monocular advice

That is what I went with. Works for what I need but seems to be pretty weather dependant. If it's a wet day and the sun never came out, it's pretty fuzzy that night.

    Handheld thermal monocular advice

How good would this unit work at identifying small game inside 150 yards? Like rabbit vs raccoon or a muskrat swimming across a pond?

    Handheld thermal monocular advice

Looking for advice on a handheld thermal monocular scanner. I have a box blind overlooking a grassy area. I think it would be fun to sit up there at night and try to spot rodents and shoot them with my .22. I have a NV scope on my gun, so I'm more looking to spot potential targets with a thermal...

    Ditching a chassis

KRG bravo off a bench is awesome, too heavy for me to carry around though. I'm thinking I want to try something like a manners or McMillan next.
