Go from Leica 10x42HD-Bs to Zeiss HT 10x42s + Leica 1600B?

I was a Swarovski man for years and switched to the Zeiss Victory HT two years ago and don't regret it. There's not a better hunting binocular in the world, jmo. The combination of the HT lens and Abbe-Konig prisms can't be beat in a hunting binocular. Swarovski, Leica, and Nikon's are close but...

Zeiss Victory HT's and the bunny test

I've had my own 10x42 HTs for over 2 years now and still love them. I was a Swarovski man for years but decided to go with Zeiss because of the then new HT glass and Abbe Konig prisms to allow more light to see a bit better from dawn to dusk. If Zeiss ever decides to offer a 15x54 HT, I will be...

Zeiss Victory HT vs. Swarovski EL SV

Thanks for your input. Not a good thing to try from memory. I will suggest wikipedia from now on. :) ...or birdforum.net where I'm way outclassed!

Zeiss Victory HT vs. Swarovski EL SV

Abbe Konig prisms are brighter than Schmidt Pechan for roof prism binoculars and refrain from the use of mirrors. The cons are that they are longer and heavier and don't afford the ergonomics and handling ability the use of Schmidt Pechan allows. Abbe Konig prisms are a superb match for Schott...

Zeiss Victory HT vs. Swarovski EL SV

I owned Swarovski for many years but switched to the Zeiss HT last year and don't regret it. I prefer Abbe Konig prisms and the new Schott HT glass isn't available to other manufacturers yet. I'm not concerned with the edge of field advantage that everyone claims for Swarovski since it actually...

    Bino Harness/Pouch

I own the FHF and AGC and both have their advantages and disadvantages. I find the AGC to give better protection from dust and rain while the FHF is made a bit more rugged and compact. To my eyes, FHF is the most handsome bino harness on the market, if looks matters. :)

    More Than One Binocular?

Like mentioned on your other thread, have 10x42 HT and would like to get 15x54 in the future. If Zeiss does not build the HT 15x54, I may get the new Conquest 15x56. Would not mind owning an 8x32 either. :)

Zeiss Victory HT 8x42 vs Swarovski EL 8.5x42 Swarovision - A Review

Thanks for your review between these two binoculars. There's not too many out there! Both are great binoculars and, I doubt, most eyes could tell the difference. I switched from Swarovski to the HTs because of their HT Proprietary lens from Schott glass and because I now prefer Abbe Konig...

    Meopta Spotter.

You might want to check with Paul at FHF Gear about building you a case for your spotting scope.

Vortex Razor HD 12x50 vs. Kaibab 15x56 for long range glassing?

I will probably purchase the Conquest 15x56 HD, unless Zeiss brings out a 15x56 HT. The build quality has been improved on the Conquest; I read, they now come with an aluminum body.

    Big binos instead of spotter?

If I didn't own binoculars, I would go with them over the spotter every time. Since you already own 8x binoculars, I would go with the spotter.

Time for a new bino harness!

I purchased the FHF first and used it on a couple of scouting trips before hunting season. Read about the Alaska Guide Creations pack and ordered one too. Since getting the AGC pack, I have used it exclusively as I dearly love how it protects my binoculars so well. The AGC pack is the...

    FHF harness test

I have the FHF and Alaska Guide Creations harness. The AGC is quieter but I don't have a problem with noise with my FHF as long as I'm careful removing my binos from it. Most of the time noise is a non factor as I have my binos out and scanning with them long before any game shows up.

Swaro 10x42EL Range VS Leica Geovid 10x42HD-B

I would not choose either one. No way I would want to own a binocular with a built in rangefinder unless they had a lifetime warranty. ...and even then I would not be all that thrilled. I can't stand the thought of owning half an instrument, should the built in rangefinder fail sometime in the...

My Pet Peeve. using a riflescope as "binoculars"..

I once read where Jack O'Connor stated "it scares the hell out of me to see a guy looking at me through his rifle scope". :) I admit, I do take a good look at a deer's antlers through my rifle scope before pulling the trigger just to make sure he is worthy of the wall but I don't have my finger...

    swarovski binoculars

To my eyes, the 50mm Swarovski offers little improvement in most all conditions vs the 10x42. I would want, at least, a 12x50 and, possibly, a 15x56 rather than another 10 power binocular. If you meant 12x50 EL, that's not a bad choice.

    Most versatile binos??

I used Swarovski 10x50's for quite awhile and now own Zeiss 10x42 Victory HT's. Love the lighter weight of the 10x42's and would not return to the 50's. Would not mind having an extra pair of Victory HT 12x50 or 15x56 if they ever make them but would not give up my 10x42's for them.

    EL Swarovision issue

I'm not crazy about the objective covers on my Zeiss Victory HTs either. Not familiar with objective covers for the Swarovski EL Swarovision; do you have a pic ?
