I would agree but add that barrel type should be a consideration. As I understand it, cut rifle and cold hammer forged barrels are bomber. Button pulled may have a tendency to open up when cut thinner during threading. 1/2" threads with a 30 cal or better could eventually lead to the old...

Anthony's work looks great as well. Although the last barrel I had from him was a nightmare. I don't believe the issue was on his end but rather the barrel maker he used. The threads looked and spec out great.

So the headspace is off? Is that what you meant by "the barrel is a little short"? The reason I ask is a lot of people only measure the exposed portion of the barrel and think it's an inch short
