If you can get lucky and find good Sept imagery you can find some places to avoid. (roads with camps/RVs every 100 yards or trailheads/ FS roads with a dozens pickups parked, etc)

We have the 10x14 kodiak flexbow. It's pretty awesome. I can set it up in ~30 min solo. It's too hot for summer in TX though, it's an oven in direct sunlight, but thats probably any canvas tent here. I would get the model with the extra screens if I did it again.
One guy mentioned it's tight...
I don't know CO specifically, in TX the state leg has left millions of hunters $ (fund 9) unnappropriated in order to help "balance" the rest of the states budget. They liked just having a big pool of money sitting there not being used, just looks good on paper

I have no real skin in this game as a NR, butI enjoy the opportunity CO provides as my backup elk hunt plan every year, but agreed it is not very sustainable. I would also agree it needs to take care or residents first. Although it seems silly to get rid of otc archery and keep otc rifle...but I...

Question: If residents apps don't make up at least 75% of the first choice apps can NR go over the 25% ?
I would think the residents don't come close to 75% of the 1st apps in alot of the lower point (former otc) draws with alot of tags available, so if the remaining can go to NR I don't see...
Pressure moves around. All the easy draw/otc units are similar. You can always find unpressured areas if you move around enough. But that doesn't mean there won't be pressure in that spot the next week or next year. Elk are used to it

1st season can get very crowded, all hunters are squeezed into a 5 day season not spread out. but at least the elk had a 2 week rest before being chased again, and prob less non hunters later in the year. As soon as the first shots are fired they go back into hiding.
In the unit I hunt I've...
