    NE Wyoming Car Thieves!

    Last summer my dad's F154 was stolen out of a hotel parking lot near the Denver airport. Security cameras showed the guys getting into it and driving it away in about 30 seconds. It was never recovered. I hope some of those 13 arrested were the same thieves.

    Gun Bearer vs Slik Sling

    I have a gun bearer, and its easy to set it up to carry the barrel behind your shoulder by attaching the upper strap higher on your pack and tightening it up. I've carried it both ways and generally prefer it behind my shoulder.

    Holster thoughts or recommendations

    I've been using a homemade chest holster much like the gunfighter with a bino chest harness over it. It's really comfortable, protected, and very accessible. The only thing that bugs me is having to take it off along with the bino harness every time I add or remove a layer of clothing.

    Backpack Stoves

    I really like my pocket rocket unless temps drop too much below freezing, then it's not great since it's a canister stove. If it's windy it really needs a windscreen too. I also keep one in my daypack along with a GSI halulite minimalist to make coffee or ramen.

    Good fixed blade knife for backcountry hunts

    Third for ESEE. I have a couple but the 4 is my go to camp and hunting knife. Easy to sharpen and holds an edge pretty well.
