Zulu 6’s. To buy or not to buy?

I’m really trying to justify buying a set of these. I currently have a set of Swaro EL 10x42’s and a Swaro spotting scope. What size would you recommend for high country mule deer hunting? Thanks

I purchased the Zulu 6 12x42 a couple years ago on sale at TAC. They are a game changer for effective glassing without a tripod. Lightweight, easy to use and no eye strain after hours of glassing with no tripod. The only downside is the limited FOV compared to some non stabilizing binoculars.

They’re definitely not an alpha replacement for high powered binos on a tripod, but the 16x’s do fit a niche that some use more than others. I like them primarily for hunts where I’m using my 10’s 90% of the time and about 50 times a day want a closer look at some bushes, rocks, branches that could be a deer part at a distance that the 10’s just can’t really resolve. It’s a pain in the butt to bust out the spotter and line it up every time but picking the Zulu’s up and getting a quick closer scan is pretty slick.

Then, which pair to get? I’ve tried the 16x42’s and 20x42’s and honestly like the 16’s better. I think I would want either the 16x50’s or 18x 50’s.

I have 20s and love them. Perfect for really long range glassing and allow me too leave a heavy spotter behind. I'll sell them after my next muley hunt and replace them with 16s i think. But they are awesome.

I have had the 16x42 and 16x50 in my cart a few times but haven't bought them. I have Maven 18s. I like the tripod to glass and shoot off. Am I gaining much with IS if I'm taking a tripod anyway? $1000 worth of upgrade to what I already have?

I have the 10s for my chest and they are a game changer. The glass isn't elite but the stabilization is incredible. I've got additional glass I bring with me if we are going to sit and pick something apart. If I could go back in time I'd get the 12s or possibly the 16s.

Agree with all, the stabilization is a game changer. Takes the place in my pack for the spotter. I have both 16’s and 20’s, not sure which to keep but if they came out with stabilization plus rangefinder all in one, that would be the ticket.

I have the 16x42's (bought 2 years ago at OK TAC) and very happy with them. I also just bought the image stabilizing rangefinder (at MT TAC) and happy with it so far.
