This is a ZOLEO satellite communicator, similar to a Garmin Inreach.
I have taken this thing all over multiple states, sent and received a ton of messages and even used the SOS once.. It's been rock solid and battery lasts a super long time. I have a unit I used and one my hunting buddy (my father in law) used.
What it is:
A satellite texting + SOS device for hunting, backpacking, overlanding, etc. Works anywhere with sky view using the Iridium network.
How it’s the same as Garmin inReach:
- Two-way satellite messaging
- SOS emergency button
- Location sharing / check-ins
- Requires a monthly plan
- Pairs with your phone via app
How it’s better than Garmin:
- You get a dedicated SMS number and email — people can message you anytime, even months later. No Garmin relay numbers or routing quirks
- App-to-app messages allow longer texts (more like real texting)
- Easier for family/friends who don’t want to install a special app.

- ZOLEO cradle (with clip, strap, belt and vehicle mount), WAY better tha the carabiner that comes with it bouncing around. These run $35 alone.
