ZeroTech TRACE ADV 3-18×44 FFP Shoot2Hunt

Excited to get my hands on these, half wishing I had ordered more to start with

This was my immediate reaction as well. Particularly after I watched someone hurl a rifle with the S2H scope mounted on it so hard that it snapped the wooden stock in half. Then put the rifle in a new stock and have it shoot to within .1 mils of the original group.

Due to finishing up major cases in January and February, I had a bad couple of months at work in March and April. That’s depleted the fun fund into the negative. Until I refill it, I am going to have to hold off. But I am sorely tempted to get another of these scopes.

I put in an order for 3 of them so I can hit the 3 main rifles. I have a feeling they are going to ruin the swfa scopes for me though on the other rifles

Well, I will say that I didn’t get the trigger time that some other folks got with them at S2H, but I did get to see and handle them. The low light performance was clearly superior to a SWFA 6x. But, moving forward, I am gravitating more towards “one main rifle.” So, I don’t foresee an immediate justification for having one of these on each of my rifles.

There's only three of these scopes in existence right now.......who threw the rifle? Sounds like a good story. I didn't even know I had a brother out there somewhere......LOL. Well........except Ross of course.

Is this scope and it's successors going to be S2H exclusive forever?

Or will zero tech take over US distribution and sales after an agreed upon period of time?

For those that have not attended a S2H course, the attendees are shooting up to dark dark. During the most recent class, the only scopes that could positively identify and engage targets were the SWFA and the S2H trace advance. It was especially interesting to see the reaction of one student who was comparing them to his nightforce.

I’m likely not adding anything not mentioned above - but just my experience with the new ZT Trace scope. I shot it for a week at S2H. It is THE most useful reticle I’ve used. I’m a SWFA guy, but this is the way.

I used it on 3x up to 12x. I run a 10x Swfa quite a bit, but for whatever reason the ZT on 12x was fantastic. I shot steel targets out to 400 ish on 3x, shot in low light conditions, and between the reticle and glass I had more time to see my target vs guys shooting SWFAs or similar.

Eye relief is great, so much better than the maven.

Turrets are positive, easy to use and low profile. No random bumping like with the maven. It was simple to reset zero and get back to shooting, which is a gripe I have with my SWFAs.

It validated my purchase of two scopes, and I look forward to getting them in hand.

I’m battling my impatience as I debate between getting a maven rs 1.2 now for my new hunting rifle or preorder the S2H scope and just use my existing vortex scope for this hunting season

Which reticle did you use that you found very usable?

That’s a tough position to be impatient for a scope that will take at least 7 months from when you decide to pop for one.

I would say buy a new or used SWFA and the S2H. Either sell the SWFA when the S2H arrives, or keep both. You won’t lose much money on the typical SWFAs you see mentioned here.

Good point. Not sure why I didn’t think to resell. Thanks
