How many numbers are showing under your turret on the Rev Indicator and what shims did you use? To get it to “zero” out?

Each rev is 5mils. So you can certainly use that as a starting point too and would be in the ballpark, put in 10mils of shims if you are on rev 2 and add as needed to dial it in.

I guess I just thought it quickest to dial all the way down to where the turret bottomed out while keeping track of your turret movement, it would probably get you right where you needed to be or .5mil off right away. Or that was the goal at least.

So you have your scope zeroed and there is no zero stop in it off the bat. Paying attention to your revolutions and the amount past the last full turn you would dial the scope all the way down to the bottom and take note of how many mils that was.

Example, if you did 3 revolutions and the scope went 2 more mils (that would land on 3mils since its 5mil per turn and you're counting down) that would mean your scope's zero is 17mil from the bottom of the turret travel and you'd want to start out with 17mils of shims.
*The -10mil base + 10mil shim + 17mil shim would get you 17mils.
*The -9.5base + 10mil shim + 16mil shim it would get a 16.5mil shim stack (to move the zero stop back .5mil).

Does that make sense?


Folks tell me the 3-15 are the same (but they list 35mils of travel vs 40mils in the fixed power) so I am waiting for feedback to really say for sure.

BUT that is the mils version, you mentioned MOA, I have not done any MOA, just mils. If there is solid demand for moa let me know. This all depends if you're even concerned with the labels on the shims. Folks above said the just swapped out shims till it got the height they wanted, the set will certainly provide a variety of thicknesses. I was just trying to have the mils labels close to reality.

Yah make sense - guess I should have read the instructions a little more. But just adding the shims in wasn’t a big deal either. For me, I could get it to basically “stop” at .2 mil after zero or closer to .5 mil depending on which shims I used. It’s a good setup particularly for what I want it for.

Like others I’ve just gotten my zero and stacked shims until I couldn’t turn past or much past that 0. I assume this functionally does the same thing that you’re addressing through the labeling. If so I don’t care and would happily purchase whichever allowed me to do that

I have a SWFA 3-9X that had 12 mils of travel from my zero to where the turret bottoms out. I started with the base-10, 10, and 12.



This worked, but I could go about .5 mil past my zero. The second combination I tried was perfect: base-9.5, 10 and 13.



After checking zero at 100 I practiced at 300 and 500 yards today and I really liked having the zero stop there to give feedback as I was approaching and reaching zero. These shims are a home run upgrade for this optic.

Thanks for the detailed feed back, it is nice to hear the labeled measurements are landing very close on other user's scopes as well. I know the kit offers a lot of adjustment regardless but a reference height and then a minor adjustment if needed was the goal.

So far all feedback is the green set fits the other fixed power scopes and will physically fit and can be used on the 3-15x42 and MOA scopes providing a variety of shim heights for trial and error fitment but the reference height will not be accurate.

If anyone who orders finds out otherwise just let me know and we'll get it taken care of (revised shims with input or refund).
