Zeiss Conquest HDX best value for under 1k?

Need binos mostly for bow hunting whitetails and observing deer near dark (8X42).
The Athlon Cronus G2 UHD is another much less expensive contender as is the Maven B1.2(10X42)
Update: Now throwing the 8X40 SFL into the mix.

Value and glass don't matter if the warranty isn't backed up. See posts in Optics regarding their warranty.. I am rethinking my Zeiss glass moving forward....

Take a look at Nikon Monarch HG, best glass at the price point, imo. Can often be found for ~$600 used. I've looked through the HDX and I like the colors better on the Nikon's. The Nikon's also have a best in class field of view.

Opticron Aurora. Best I've seen at $1k and great warranty. I've had the Monarch HG and the B1.2.

I've never looked through the B6 but compared to other Mavens, the focuser and the color are better on the Nikons imo. However, Maven has the better warranty and I like the pair of their mid-tier 18s I have.

The field of view on the Nikons really has to be seen to be believed. It is astonishing. If you want in-depth comparisons, check out the birding forums.

I have a set of Leica Trinovids in 10x42, using them for the whitetails like you. I think they are great. The color is good and they are clear almost all the way to the edges. They arent too heavy and pick up a good amount of light.
I got a pair off here for $700 NiB. Keep an eye on the classifieds and you will definitely find a deal.

Wait, I thought the only optic company that people used the warranty on was Vortex? You mean other companies have issues too?
