Every year I look forward to taking my daughter hunting. We’ve been fortunate enough to have had her harvest 8 blacktail bucks to date. This year I was able to help some of my best friends on there kids first hunts. Nothing is a better feeling. So let’s see some youth success in the woods! 2024 has been special!

CVA Wolf V2 with Williams peep sight.
84 (MEASURED) grains of BH209
350 Grain Hornady FPB (They don't make these anymore but are VERY similar to a Thor)
Winchester 209 primer

Dropped that bull right in his tracks and stuck in the far side hide. It was a close and broadside shot. (15 yards)

It's a big boom when that little gun goes off.....thats a fact.

Is your daughter a slender build? My son is currently 5'2" and 115lbs, 10-years-old. He's never shot a muzzleloader so I'm wanting to work up some loads for my CVA Accura. Thanks for the load info

Ya she is a skinny little thing. Bout the same size as your boy.

We practiced with pyrodex rs (84g. Weighed) and these. Still had some recoil. Probobly should have shot way more reduced powder loads.

Then did final sight in on a lead sled with the big boomers.

Theres been a mob of pigs hanging around our property and neighbouring properties. I went for a rabbit hunt next door last Thursday and saw them. Went back the next afternoon and didn't see them at the neighbours place. Walking home on dark we spotted them on our place. My lad got the lead sow with my 270w using a reduced load I made. 110gr Sierra prohunter at 2550fps.

Is your Accura threaded? I absolutely hate muzzle brakes but they really tune down those muzzleloaders, might be worth looking into.
