Hopefully I'll be killing a couple cows with a 223 this year. Everything is ordered minus the rifle. Supplies are trickling in and in the next few weeks I hope to dial a 77tmk load in and put it to work.
I've killed plenty with an 06 and a 300 WM so hoping to fill the freezer with elk killed from a 223!

This is like asking me which is my favorite kid. Not sure about favorite, but in about ten days I'll be heading west with my Gunwerks Magnus chambered in 28 Nosler, wearing a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 and a SilencerCo Scythe Ti.

Trusty ol Rem 700 in .30-06 is what I've used for most of my rifle hunts. Occasionally the old BLR in .308 if I'm gonna be in timber and want something a little shorter and handier to wield. But this year it's my new Bergara 7prc.

Switched it up this season with a new rifle. Scratched a wood stock rifle the last time out and it was hard to stomach. Went with a high performance budget build IMO
.78 grouping
Browning X-Bolt OD Green in 300 win Mag. 180 Grain Nosler Accuabonds. Leupold VX-3HD windplex

Just broke it in this past week and removed the muzzle break after the first shot - ringing ears with double ear pro ☠️

My elk rifle is a Browning A-Bolt .338 Win Mag with a 3-10 Swarovski. I’ve killed quite a few elk with it and love that gun, but I’ve killed more elk with my Ruger M77 stainless in .30-06 with a Leupold VX2 3-9x40. Prior to that I shot a Remington 700 BDL in 7mm REM Mag.

If I ever get another elk rifle it will be a .300 PRC. Either Browning X-Bolt Speed or Christianson Arms. I certainly don’t need it, but want it lol.

My wife has killed her share of elk with her Howa 1500 in 7mm-08. Wicked little round!
I’ve heard some negative stories about the Christianson. Curious what you went with

Christensen Ridgeline 6.5PRC 24" barrel. Mil by mil vortex razor scope. It's killed my biggest muley and elk to date both at long range.

I was at the range and the guy next to me had a 28 Nosler. I felt the concussion 6' away. I have no doubt wherever you hit an animal, he's going down with the 28. And if he gets back up, he's not going anywhere very fast while you put another one in him.

My elk rifle is a Barrett Fieldcraft (18 inch) in .308 Win, with a NF 2.5-10X and a Rugged Radiant suppressor. I have a Silencerco Scythe TI sitting in prison that will go on this rifle when the government sets it free. My hunting load is a 165 gr Nosler Accubond w/ a healthy dose of Varget in Lapua cases. Not exactly Rokslide approved but it works for me.
