So my folks bought a place down in Rimrock and I finally got down here from Wyoming to see the place. We came down through the Cocino forest and started seeing a lot of road signs warning of elk crossing the road and of course it got me thinking about what the hunting is like in this area. Anyone have any good info on the elk in the area? Without pouring through the regulations, how feesable is it for me to think about eventually coming down as a nonresident and hunting for elk? Thanks guys.

Drew my 3rd NR elk tag in five years of applying this season. But then, I'm luckier than most. Oh and they were all in the Kaibab too.

Hey there I actually live in Rimrock. Born and raised. Your parents live in a unit that has a lot of elk. PM me for some more info if you’d like. Welcome to Rimrock! There’s not much going on here but it’s quiet and it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from everywhere else.

Hey thanks a bunch, been here for almost a week and I'm loving it more and more. Never knew there was so much to do,saw Sedona for the first time and it is absolutely amazing. I'm currently looking into some javelina hunting on the surrounding blm land, I've heard there is a decent population in the area. Thanks for all the info guys.

Curious if anyone has any opinion on Unit 8. Big unit. Gonna start scouting in a couple of weeks. PM me if ya care to share any recommendations okay? Only have 10 days to punch my ticket with a recurve. Thanks.

Fall hunts due soon, apps. normally accepted in Oct.
Will do thanks,I'm thinking I'm going to ease into this over the next several years,I'm fortunate to live in a great area of Wyoming with more than enough hunting opportunities. This part of Arizona is absolutely beautiful and i hope to spend more time down here with folks.
