Well, add me to the list of unhappy customers. I went against my better judgement and took a shot on them.

I purchased a Rogue 7mm PRC with a 20" carbon barrel back in Feb of this year. I wanted something lightweight and short (to add suppressor) that I could take on hunts out west. At the same time I ordered a dedicated suppressor.

The rifle sat in my safe for months while I waited on the suppressor to clear. My thought was to dial in with the entire setup once it arrived. 8-9 months later the suppressor finally cleared.

I have taken it the range 6 times now. Tried 4 different brands/types/grain of factory ammo. Same results. 3 of the times at the range I was with an old friend of mine who builds customs. We were on a concrete bench, $600 rest, zero windage and noone else on the range. Would not group at 100yds. Literally flyers that sometimes would not even hit paper.

I called Fierce and they gave me the story about "lots of variables when shooting" etc etc. I told him I have purchased literally 100s of guns over my life, and never had any of them shoot this bad after trying multiple brands of ammo.

I asked for a refund, and they said no. My options are to send it back, let them shoot it. If they cant group it then its a warranty claim. If they can group it, I pay $200 for their services.

A complete nightmare and I should have went with my gut. I talked to a well known local gunsmith I use, and he said he has had no less than 5 fierce rifles brought to him this year alone, all with the same problem. His fix is trashing the Fierce barrel and going with a proof. Once he did that on the other 5 brought to him, they were great shooters.

If I do that, I am in this thing for another $1k+, and was trying to keep this under a certain budget or I would have had another custom built.. The ruger american rifle I bought my son years ago will outshoot this rifle by a landslide, and it was 1/10 the price.

Oh, and I emailed them for the serial number off the Leupold VX6HD they installed before they shipped so I can order custom turrets. They never responded after their initial response of "let me look for it".

Terrible customer service all the way around and even worse product so far. I know some people have purchased and had good luck, but not me. If you are currently in the market and thinking of Fierce, steer clear would be suggestion. Ill probably sell this one when I get it back and go another route.
I’ve heard of others with the same issue. Wild when you spend that kind of money. Sell it and look into an sig cross or bergara MgLite.

Just an updated.

I shipped it back Dec 13th. I have checked in with Cody at Fierce a few times, and they havent gotten to it yet. I am not in any hurry at this point. I am just hoping they are able to fix it, or do the right thing and refund.

I will post any updates I have as they come.

Quite a difference from Fierce CS to Seekins CS.

I am currently dealing with Seekins CS on a pressure issue on a new rifle and without hesitation they told me "if you're not satisfied, send it in and we will take care of you". Not once did they try to get me to jump through any hoops or threaten to charge me additional money to go through the rifle they made that isn't performing right.

Also, I get screws can come loose and it's easy to retorque, but if you're shooting a brand new rifle and they're already loose, it should be the manufacturer's responsibility to foot the shipping bill and employee's time to go back through it and find the issue, not the owner that just dropped $2,000 on a "fancy rifle", wasted their time, and hundreds of dollars in ammo trying to trouble shoot the problem.

Welp, after reading the Fierce disaster thread and several others on here… I think you might have just made my mind up for me. I was considering 3 choices in 7PRC.. Bergarra MG Lite, Seekins Precision Element Hunter, or the Fierce Mountain Reaper.

Fierce is quickly off the table, but your description of Seekins CS is probably the fourth or fifth account I have of superb CS so I think the Seekins will be my choice.

After reading the Fierce complaints on here, I’m convinced that they should just market their rifles as shotguns, because they either

A) don’t come with rifling
B) shoot patterns instead of groups

Was curious to see how this was going to play out - hopefully in your favor and in a reasonable amount of time.

Wanted to also add, I have a good buddy who purchased a CA in a 6.5 PRC with carbon barrel about 6 months before I did.

He had the EXACT same problems with groupings. Sent it back to them, they had it for a long time (around 7 months) and he got pretty frustrated. As of last week, they notified him they are refunding him.

Seems strange to me they would refund. I am sure they tried different barrels, etc... they didnt give him detail around what all the tried, but hes happy either way.

Fierce was pretty upfront with me they would not be refunding when I asked.

I know there are 1000 carbon barrel accurate rifles out there as we speak, but Im growing leary of going with another carbon in the future.

It's unreal to me a manufacturer would have to issue a refund. What on earth could be so bad that they can't make a rifle they made shoot satisfactory.
They could use new bolt, true action, rebarrel, etc. Hell, what's left?

I had a friend give me a MTN Reaper, 7 prc. that he wanted a custom load and drop charts made for it. After 300 rounds of different bullets and powder combos I finally talked to them. Put it off for too long after reading their warranty contract. They sent me a shipping label and the paper work for the $200 fee if they dont cover it. To my surprise, I got the rifle back in about 6 weeks with a new barrel. Long story short, I'm in this barrel 200 rounds and it won't shoot under 1 moa. Talked to Cody and he said it not possible to get 2 bad barrels !! Sent me a box of Norma 165 bond strike, being that is what they used on the test target. It shot about its best with that ammo, but still not under 1 moa. I sent it back again. The rifle has a 1/2 moa guarantee . He said they make there own barrels in house. I recently worked on 2 proof Elevations, one 7 prc and a 7 mag and they were easy to get under 1/2 moa right out of the box. I think Fierce has some issues with there carbon barrels. I hope number 3 is not a dud !

I think that most buyers will not be able to tell a 1/2 MOA gun from a 2 MOA gun. Therefore, there are a lot of junk CA rifles actively in use by happy customers. This is money in CA's pocket, but when they get a buyer that can spot a bad gun and he sends it in for repair, if they cannot quickly and easily fix that gun to be sure it shoots 1 MOA, they'd rather send a check because if they send that rifle to him and it's not right, it's going to come straight back. If they send a replacement rifle, there is a chance it, too, is a bad shooter. They'd rather let a few buyers and dollars walk and use more resources in producing junk rifles that sell.

Just got a call from Fierce.

They said they replaced the barrel. Shot it with Federal Premium ELDX 175g at .546 to 200yds

They are sending the target back as well.

The gentlemen I spoke with said it was for sure the barrel, that they are expensive and they wouldn't just replace it if they didn't know that was the issue without a doubt.

I am cautiously optimistic at this point.

Once I get it in a week or so I will spend some bench time with it and report back.

I finally got around to getting some bench time with the rifle after they replaced the barrel.

They sent me the target along with the rifle and had it to .053 MOA with Federal Premium 175

I purchased one box of the Federal and one box of Nosler Trophy Grade 175.

It definitely seemed to like the Federal better, so that’s what I am going to stick with.

The below photos are my best 3 shot group at 100 and best at 200. Mind you it was raining, and 20-30 mph wind gusts at the range last weekend, but I had the time, so went after it.

The 100yd group was one of those that I thought I missed at first on shot 2 and 3. All touching.

The 200 my eyes were getting tired at that point. Need to shoot it more to continue breaking the barrel in, but I am happy and exactly what I was expecting when I first purchased the rifle.

Fierce made it right and stood by their product.

Did you adjust your scope between shots?
yes. It was grouping early, but low.

I’m assuming the elevation changes? The factory is in Utah. I’m down in Texas. That is my assumption.

I didn’t completely get to zero at 200. The wind and rain wasn’t making it easy. It was a good session though, I just need to spend more time with it this summer.

I just got the Reaper back again last week with it's 3rd carbon barrel. They have been good about replacing them with a decent turn around of 4 to 5 weeks. I wish they would have communicated with me after they recieved it and shot it , that they were going to replace the barrel again. I would of had them put a steel barrel on it this time . Would improve the odds of getting a good barrel a bunch !! Would also of not got another 7 prc with 8 twist and went with the 7 mag 8.5 twist. The new barrel looked good in the bore scope. Lot better than the last one. It came with 2 targets that were good and was even clean. First group I shot with Grand and a 162 A-Max 3 shots were stacked with 1/2 inch vertical. Looked promising. Added a little more powder and it shot over a inch group. 2 more loads including the first charge would not repeat. Tried several loads with H1000, no good. 180 Bergers, 175 x and 162 x. Nothing under a inch. Next I went to N560 with 162 x and got a 1/2 inch group on the first load. Shot 3 more groups and they all stayed under 3/4 inch. I will keep my fingers crossed that this barrel will work because I'm tired of working on this rifle. There carbon barrels are finicky bitch's.
