Yet another Fierce Firearms Issue...2024

I too was about to purchase a fierce at one point when I first became a member here. Then started browsing and decided I wasnt going to risk it. That really sucks though, I know I've never heard anything good about their customer service. Try all the above and if it doesnt work trash it and buy a Seekins you'll be much happier with groups and customer service. Good luck

I am starting to agree.

I have a good friend who purchased a Christensen Arms around the same time I did. Carbon barrel as well. He has the EXACT same problems as I am having. Gun is back with them now as we speak.
The two best custom build guys in my area don’t use them, both said they have bad harmonics and they don’t want to hassle with replacing them

Seems every manufacturer that offers CF has a customer service frustration
Probably from the hassle of replacing the CF barrels
My two guys don’t send out a rifle till after it meets their rigid specifications

I bought 2 CA FFT Ti rifles this year. A 308 and a 7PRC. Both carbon barrels. The 308 shoots 1/2" @100 with several different factory loads. The 7PRC shoots 3/4-1" @100 with factory Hornady Eld-x and Eld-m. Shot at a bench with a bipod on them.....no other support. Certainly, with them on bags they might have shot even better. That, out of rifles that are barely over 5 pounds un-scoped. The 308 does not change with the Bannish Backcountry suppressor and I have not tried a suppressor on the 7PRC yet even though I have one ready to mount. I simply cannot complain about these CA rifles. I guess I got lucky...twice. No way was I going to buy a Fierce simply because their CS is terrible. At least CA will make it right w/o a lot of hassle if there is an issue.

I’m starting to wonder about these carbon fiber barrels
Something seems like a common problem
I’ve been around/owned 6 carbon barrels. 3 carbon 6 and 3 proof. 5 were prefits and one was custom chambered by a local smith. One headspaced a little tight, another had some initial headspacing issues but were corrected. All have shot lights out.

If done properly I don’t believe they are inherently an issue.

Doesn't seem like you've eliminated enough variables to say it is indeed the rifle.

Like mentioned degrease and retorque everything, switch scopes. I mean, if you check everything, you aren't paying the $200 anyway. That's what I'd do.
Yup. It’s free.99 to verify screw torque.

Quite a difference from Fierce CS to Seekins CS.

I am currently dealing with Seekins CS on a pressure issue on a new rifle and without hesitation they told me "if you're not satisfied, send it in and we will take care of you". Not once did they try to get me to jump through any hoops or threaten to charge me additional money to go through the rifle they made that isn't performing right.

Also, I get screws can come loose and it's easy to retorque, but if you're shooting a brand new rifle and they're already loose, it should be the manufacturer's responsibility to foot the shipping bill and employee's time to go back through it and find the issue, not the owner that just dropped $2,000 on a "fancy rifle", wasted their time, and hundreds of dollars in ammo trying to trouble shoot the problem.

Exactly. My buddy wanted to try a few different brands of ammo... I'm like, nope! I'm done.

Never had ANY gun, regardless of price, shoot so bad with factory ammo. There is literally zero grouping.

I was excited for this new rifle. I really want to like it. The fit and finish is exactly what I was looking for... but its worthless to me at this point.

While fierce has a reputation for having issues, you can't say it is the gun for sure since you haven't truly verified it is the gun itself yet. The "system" they sold you isn't shooting well, that is a fair statement. But scope could be dead, mounting could be suspect, etc. as folks already noted.

But if they mounted it all, which it sounds like, I think its also fair to tell them to figure it out after you've done your due diligence with a couple types of ammo.

They mounted everything. Came in the box with scope etc already mounted.

I feel like I am in a time crunch now. Their site says they guarantee up to 1 year. I let it sit in the safe for a while waiting on the can. Im afraid with deer season here, I wont have time to try a new scope/rings etc. I would hate to be past the 1 year mark, it truly be a barrel issue, and them say "its out of warranty now".

Im leaning into just sending it back this week, and rolling the dice to see if they can get it to shoot, and then pay the $200.

If they mounted it and you're shooting it as sent with multiple ammos I'd absolutely send it back and tell them there is zero way you're paying $200 cause SOMETHING is wrong with it as delivered even if its as simple as a loose scope mount screw cause they were responsible for that.

I did not realize they mounted everything and sold it as a package. I'd send it back and tell them there is a snowballs chance in hell you are paying $200.00. Instead , I would ask them to reimburse you for the factory ammo you waisted. Cross the bridge when/if they ask for $200.00

I once ordered a rifle with an extra long barrel. It would not group on a pie plate at 100yds. Tried lots of things and finally decided to slug the bore. Pushed a lead slug from the breech and it went steadily through the bore with equal pressure until the last 4 inches then it fell out of the muzzle. tried again with the same result. Then pushed one from the muzzle to breech with the resistance remaining the same from one end to the other. Apparently the drill or reamer had wandered during the rifling process and created a funneled muzzle. Luckily I was able to cut the barrel back to get it to shoot. With the CF, if that is the problem, your smith is not going to be able to fix that.

Then we get into a he said/she said scenario.

They make you sign a "accuracy guarantee disclaimer" and put in the box when you ship mentioning I am responsible if they get it to shoot.

Lets say it is a loose screw on the ring, etc. They tighten it, group it and boom I owe $200.

I think I am going to ship it and not include the signed disclaimer to see how this goes.

Thanks so much for posting this information. I recently was pretty dead set on getting Fierce, but the mixed reviews gave me some pause. For sure I will not be buying a Fierce at this point or until they get straightened out on the customer service side. Gonna pick up a Seekins instead. Sorry to OP for having to go through this crap.
