We are leaving Yellowstone on a Thursday morning and will stay in Salt Lake on Friday night (fly out Saturday morning). Looking for some ideas on what to do Thursday evening/night? Plan on hitting Jackson Hole at the beginning of the trip.

Also; anything in particular that we need to do while in Yellowstone that anyone recommends? Thanks for the help.

Meant to add; this is family vacation with children.

Jaskson Hole: even if you don't ski, take a ride on the gondola to the top and have a cup of hot chocolate.
Enjoy the Tetons. We enjoyed that area more than Yellowstone.

West Yellowstone has a bear and wolf conservation center. Good way to see a griz and some wolves if the park doesn’t deliver. There are a few other shopping options and a few restaurants too. Stayed there night and there is enough to stay busy.

In the park, the springs and geysers are a no brainer. Old faithful inn was cool and the walk around old faithful and the area is a good place to spend some time. The Lamar valley is worth the trip. Herds of stuff is east coast guys only dream of. The falls are pretty cool too.

Look up the Moulton barn north of Jackson. Great photo op at sunrise

In Jackson take a sleigh ride on the elk refuge, not sure how many bulls have made it to the refuge yet though.

Definitely this. Also, swing into Jenny Lake, my favorite view of the Tetons.

The cowboy coaster in Jackson is great for the kids. We spent ten days in the park and surrounding area in September and the coaster is what the kids talk about he most. They enjoyed the bear and wolf museum and the geysers as well.

Did the same exact thing this past summer. Like others said, head south and go down through the Tetons and spend the day in Jackson Hole. Cowboy coaster is awesome and so is the ski lift up above Jackson if you just want to take things in. We did some fishing and hit the Elk Refuge visitor center.

Check out Snake River Brewing in Jackson Hole.
The steak tacos are awesome!!
