Thank you, I do appreciate. I am 6"2 250lbs. Years ago I had a Honda rancher 350 and most recent a Honda Rubicon irs. The 520 had good power for my needs but I think the old rancher was way more maneuverable. That is one reason I am considering the Kodiak rather than the Grizzly. I will eventually need to go to a dealer if I can find one or both in stock. My info is dated so take it for what its worth. I've got a 2013 Grizzly 550 (same frame as a Grizzly 700 of that era) and I believe the same frame (size wise) as a present day Kodiak 700. No comments on the Kodiak 450.
Around 2015 the Grizzly got heavier, wider and taller than the Kodiak 700. Brakes are different. So how big are you? If a large person I'd consider the Grizzly. Small...probably the Kodiak.
Engines are the same. Length is the same. Towing is the same. Suspension is same, at least the travel.
Get on Yamaha's website and get a comparison going. You'd find either one a fine quad. Better yet go to the dealer and climb aboard. They feel quite a bit different.
And as per the Kodiak 450.....if you live in flat lands and aren't towing an ATV trailer in the mountains and through the muskeg with the ATV on 10 day moose and caribou hunts....I suspect that it would work out fine. My Grizzly 550 (no longer made) has worked very well for me on the above noted hunts but I wouldn't want much less power than it has....this with a loaded down Boski 2 wheel trailer or a big pig of a 4 wheel walking axle trailer that towed really hard.
