So the Brown Truck arrived yesterday with my Longhunter Lid and 2 Med Belt pouches. Bought these for my Highcamp 4800 but that is still being worked out.

For now I was dieing to try out a configuration. So I took the 2 Med Belt Pouches and my Longhunter Lid and put them on my Kifaru Xing. Really like how it turned out. This gives me over 4000 ci of usable capacity in a Medium Pack. Plan to utilize this as I really like how it looks and functions so far. Will have to get out and do some backpacking this weekend with it for a good test.

Any of you guys that like smaller packs this is an alternative. The 2 Belt Pouches fit perfectly on the Xing Door still allowing you to open it.

Just thought Id share how the setup looks to give folks an idea if you ever thought about doing something like this. Enjoy.

Very well I train daily with it and 40# in it. Never had more then 50# in it but with a good belt to hold it on your hips its pretty nice. The stays are only 22" so probably not the best for above 6 foot. Ive been trying to get Mel to design it with 24" Stays for more Lift. At 6' and under you have lift but it flattens out at almost horizontal on my 19" torso. Still keeps the weight on my hips though. I use it with a Hill People gear Prairie Belt.

Well I'm vertically challenged. If I stretch a lot in the mornings and wear boots, I hit 5'9". And my torso is only like 16-16.5". Looks like it would work out ok for me.

Yeah QA this would be a great pack for you for sure. if you make it up to Denver stop in at the shop or shoot me a PM either way could have to you try it out. Las Cruses isnt far =-)

Been holding out for a 22" Bikini frame to be released but that looks like a good plan B, let me know when your ready to sell it ;)

i've often imagined you CO guys just dropping in and picking stuff up out of the warehouse. no?

i've been playing with my BT2, and i think a lid upgrade will make it better for my uses as well.

Yeah we can But Kifaru always likes a call first that your coming down. Their place can be busy at times =) They push out a lot of orders.

May have missed the news but when and why did they discontinue the Xing? SHTF love the setup, is it big enough for a quick overnight?

Depends on your gear you use. I did a couple overnights with it. moved to the Kifaru Pointman for a better suspension though. I like it much better. I am sure if you call the shop they will have a Xing you can buy. For 5-7 days I'm running Kifaru new ultralight Tactical Frame with an Exo 5500 bag mounted, and I'm currently testing Kevin's Seek Outside Unaweep pack So far I like it a lot.
