Got a couple questions for those versed in the regulations of Wyoming. I've called the local CO and left a message, but haven't heard back from him yet.

Is a blaze orange hat or beanie all that is required? No vest required, correct?

My dad is headed out with me, and will not be hunting, but wants to carry for predator protection (we will have bear spray as well). Is that legal, or does he need some type of license?

Can I carry my rifle with me while scouting/glassing before the season opens? I don't want to leave my gun in camp, and I'll of course have it unloaded if the season isn't open yet.

Can I start my hike in one unit that my tag is not good for, to get into the unit I'm allowed to hunt? If so, what do I do if I'm successful and get stopped at the trailhead with my kill in the unit my tag isn't good for, though the deer was killed where my tag was good for? Anybody have any idea what the protocol is here? I plan to GPS the kill site just in case something like this happens.

Are shooting hours the same as most states, i.e. 30 minutes before official sunrise to 30 minutes after official sundown?

I will try and help you out with what I know. As for hunter blaze orange. I usually wear a hat as that is all that is required. For safety I usually wear more. It is legal to carry a gun, with, or without a hunting license. Be aware you may come across a "grumpy" game and fish warden who will press who shot the deer if both are carrying rifles. My dad always has his rifle when I am archery hunting. There are always yotes wondering the country. When scouting, I always have some sort of weapon, be it a pistol or rifle. This again may be questioned by a grump game warden but as long as your not poaching or acting like your going to shoot, you should be fine. In my experience, I always have bullets in my gun, just not in the chamber. There is no law in Wyoming saying it has to be unloaded. I have started a hike/drive in a area that is special permit to go into an area that is general. I have never been questioned but just be prepared to show the game warden where the kill site is if he asks. Sometimes it helps to GPS it so that you can have that question answered before hand (as you mentioned), but they may want to double check you didn't kill it in the other area. Shooting hours are the same as you mentioned.
