a buddy and I are wanting to start planning a elk hunt in Wyoming. We both live in Idaho and hunt elk every year. I used to guide in the bob marshall wilderness in Montana. Our goals for the hunt is to backpack into the back country (may drag the horses and mules over if its recommended) and hopefully get away from the pressure. we would both like to have a chance at a bull over 300. Are there units we could get into a hunt like this with 1-2 points? I know we cant hunt wilderness. Any recommendations?? Will gladly trade info for any north Idaho deer elk bear and western Montana elk info.

Also wouldn't mind any intel on high country mule deer hunts but from what im reading might plan for Colorado on that one.

Thanks

Get a general tag with two or three points and hunt the wyoming range. No wilderness and bulls that will meet your expectations. Area 92 and 94.
