I drew a cow tag for Wyoming unit 122, heading out tomorrow. Would appreciate any advice!

How far in did you hike, were you hunting Pine Ridge? Thinking of picking up a cow tag myself. Any insight is super appreciated.

Just came back from 7 day grind in 35. There were some cows in there and plenty of sign but we were a day late and a dollar short every day. Locals said they'd never seen the herds hit private so early, but we did the best we could. Averaged 7 miles every day and did 12 miles and 1100' of elevation on Thursday when we thought we finally had them cornered. We were in the right spot but cows didn't show up until after shooting light.

Tough but extremely rewarding hunt with my 17 year old daughter, best friend, and his 15 year old son.

I would say no on public. Ran into a bull once on the far north side of the unit hunting Pronghorn but that's it.

RS doesn't allow spot burning, talking specifics about units on open forums...it's in the rules you accepted to be part of this community. The post you selected is from 2018 and da rulz were different back then.

There has been a rule change which forbids FNG'S from asking unit specific questions and encourages all members to not discuss units on the open forum but take them private messages

new to the forum. hoping to get some input from you. pulled a tag but will not be going through an outfitter. foot, horses and sxs will all be an option. just wish i had fence jumping mules.
