Wyoming antelope draw

I didnt draw either. But, i fkd up and applied type 1 with 4 points. Wasnt aware of a type 2 tag. Needed 8 damn points to get type 1 and only 2 points for type 2. So , no antelope for me. Had to request a refund on plane ticket since i was sure i would draw a 2 pt tag with 4. First time ive made that mistake.

I drew 22 also. You doing private ground or public ?

We’re doing public, I don’t have any connections up there to try and find private land to access, we have one of the cabins rented at Indian Campground in Buffalo
You should have pretty decent hunting. Don't expect any huge bucks on public land, but there are usually decent ones around. After they get a little bit of pressure, expect to play the corner/property line game. OnX will be your friend in that respect. Along those lines, Beware of Iberlin Four-Mile Road that leads down/up into a large chunk of BLM ground. It is NOT a public road despite appearing to be. It's an oilfield lease road. Generally, they're not real friendly to "trespassers". Beware of oilfield traffic, most of them will damn near run you off the road.

Much of the area was burned by a pretty bad fire a couple years ago that really messed up the hunting that fall. When I was out there a couple weeks ago, it was some of the nicest, greenest grass around.

I run in this area from time to time trucking and live in Sundance (About 2 hours away) as well as having hunted it some. You are both welcome to PM me with any questions.

Thank you, we’re not looking for trophies, just want to get my Dad on one, I’ll definitely keep all that in mind and reach out when we get closer

Two fellas I got to know and became friends with from back East that hunted that unit last year both filled their tags in a couple days. One was opening morning. The other took a couple of days but had several opportunities prior to filling the tag.

That’s good to know

Fun little data point. Went in the special draw with 6 points. Last year it was 100% at 3 points and 30% at 2 points. I didn’t draw. Hard to believe 3+ points of point creep
