Hey guys I’m moving out west from CT and I’m looking for a good early season hunt to bring my girlfriend along on. She doesn’t hunt but wants to check it out. Is this the hunt? The 1/2 mile restriction is a little worrying. Are all irrigated lands private? I want to spend my hunt looking for goats not staring at the map. If it’s worth it though I’ll do it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Yes, irrigated lands are going to be private so you will need a GPS to keep track of where you are at all times. That or don't push the limits and stay within a couple hundred yards of the irrigated land.

Are there typically antelope on that 1/2 mile strip?

They like to feed in the irrigated fields, so yes. The issue sometimes could be they don't leave the irrigated fields all day, and if you don't have permission from the landowner they're safe. But I don't think you'll have a problem finding antelope in areas that are legal to hunt.
