Does anyone know of any private ranches with tresspass fee for a DIY hunt? We have zero points. I figured antelope would be a fun and hopefully successful hunt to introduce my girlfriend to western hunting as she’s never hunted any big game other than whitetails. Any info would b greatly appreciated

Thanks Mike

It isn't easy to get on any ranches anymore. Lots of competition.

Best of success to you. If you find one, treat em like gold.

Lots of guys taking their kids, fathers, mothers, brothers, wives, sisters, girlfriends...

Yeah, the areas I hunt have all been leased up by outfitters. There are few unleased big ranches left in my stomping grounds, and none offer tresspass fees of yesterday. I am sure there are some left, but it isn't like 20 years ago in this area.

The economy has been strong. Pronghorn hunting tends to be the most affordable tag for a Western hunt. The economy will turn. The demand for pronghorn tags will thin in a downturn and outfitters will struggle with some folding. Then ranchers will be deal with the chaos. Maybe ranchers will go back to dealing with the public rather than use an outfitter but using an outfitter keeps things simple and easier to manage so the rancher does rancher things.

I have yet to see weak economy’s have any noticeable impact on prices related to hunting, at least not in my lifetime while I been cognitive of it.
You couldn’t get a worse recession in terms of time( duration ) then what started in 07 ..... If anything access has become even more commoditized and it’s cost has risen. The baseline has changed and it will never go back to what it was. People would rather see land go unhunted then grant reduced or free access.
