Why wouldn't you just use some magnetic pucks on the dash too?
My work rig has a similar recess and it, so far, has worked fine that way.I just set mine on the dash, the protrusion on the back sits down nicely into the dash recess.
I'm saying since you are getting the magnetic mount, just order some extra magnet discs and slap them on the dash.Quite frankly, I had not thought of it and had no idea the dash would be magnetic! Great idea, I'll explore that and give it some thought. Thanks.

That's why you stick magnets to itTurns out the dash is non-mahnetic.
It hadn't crossed my mind and I haven't read of anyone seeing anything wonky. Other than that, I'm ignorant to the magnet causing a dash issue concept. The magnets don't mess with the trucks electronics?
Buddy has his mini stuck to the inside of thr sunroof in the truck with suction cups...I just set mine on the dash, the protrusion on the back sits down nicely into the dash recess.

MiFi is cellular technology .... Starlink is satellite. Mountains and trees can still obstruct Starlink, but it usually works well beyond any cell service. You'll have to run the costs for startup and monthly rates based on your projected usage. Please forgive my lack of I.T. knowledge. Is this Starlink similar to a MiFi?? Can it be used while travelling (in a car) or does it have to be stationary in/outside a structure? I have a MiFi we usually use when driving to access the internet, but when we get in the mountains, it doesn't receive the signal and is useless. Would the Starlink be a better option?? Looking for something the Wife can use to access the internet while up at the cabin and I am out chasing elk..
Why would you hate to admit something worked great? We stayed at a remote place that had one. I hate to admit it was impressive and it gave me all kinds of thoughts about small, distant towns.

Still a deal.SL just bumped the price to $10 bucks for standby.
Agreed. For the time being they are the only game in town — lightyears above the closest competitor in quality. Just going to be a supply/demand problem on pricing… and there is huge demand. Only true competition from Google or Amazon/Blue Origin is still likely at least 5+ years away (likely more like a decade). SpaceX launched their first operational batch of Starlink satellites back in 2019, with years of prototyping before that. And I guarantee no one is going to bring a product to market faster than they did.Still a deal.
