Wow. I’m impressed with Starlink!

Quite frankly, I had not thought of it and had no idea the dash would be magnetic! Great idea, I'll explore that and give it some thought. Thanks.
I'm saying since you are getting the magnetic mount, just order some extra magnet discs and slap them on the dash.

Please forgive my lack of I.T. knowledge. Is this Starlink similar to a MiFi?? Can it be used while travelling (in a car) or does it have to be stationary in/outside a structure? I have a MiFi we usually use when driving to access the internet, but when we get in the mountains, it doesn't receive the signal and is useless. Would the Starlink be a better option?? Looking for something the Wife can use to access the internet while up at the cabin and I am out chasing elk..

MiFi is cellular technology .... Starlink is satellite. Mountains and trees can still obstruct Starlink, but it usually works well beyond any cell service. You'll have to run the costs for startup and monthly rates based on your projected usage.

We stayed at a remote place that had one. I hate to admit it was impressive and it gave me all kinds of thoughts about small, distant towns.

Just something to consider, these dishes can become deadly “missiles” at highway speed car crashes. I’d definitely look at secure mounts for them rather, than just laying them on the dash, etc.

I thought during last deer season that adding starlink to my truck while driving to the farm would allow me to take work meetings in areas i lose cell phone service. It's about a 3 hour drive and half of it without service. Makes the fall logistics on thurs/fri that much more difficult.
