I am ready to receive my scope now. Instead of September.

Currently in a quandary. I have a 223 scoped with a 3-9 swfa and a 243 with no scope, 1 rokstok lite because I'm an idiot and canceled my order for the 2nd one.

My hunt is in October. I would say, I should just put the 223 in my rokstok and plan on hunting with it this year, but where I hunt it my chances of harvest go wayyyhh up with 500-600yd shot ability. Pretty sure i shouldn'tshoot passed 400 with my 223. .

Hunt with the 223 and increase my hunting skill?

Sounds like you should put the rokstock and 3-9 on the 243 and you’d be set.

In all honesty, if I'm not capable of hitting past 400 with a .223 in field conditions, I'm pretty sure there's nothing reality-based I'd get out of a .243 that improves that. Maybe a bit of wind cutting with a high-BC bullet, but 400's about max for me with any gun. Personally, I'd just go with the one I'm shooting best with. If that's the .223, my understanding is that the 77gr TMKs open up well past 500yds.
