Would you buy this scope?

Anybody else see this from Sig and think it's an attempt at a copy or to get some of the market?

I saw that too. Awfully similar. Especially superficially. Wonder if it’s got the same later-gen erector system that enabled the S2H? I’d imagine? Agree that I overall like the #4-esque reticle, but it suffers from the same too-much-hashmark problem that most of the market does.

I just know some retard is going to take one of these new scopes and Gronk spike it straight onto concrete to “prove” it loses zero. Love the warranty, but I hope S2H and ZT tell them to eat a bag of dicks when they come asking for a replacement or refund.

It will be interesting to see what competitors do assuming this scope becomes as popular as we all think it will be. We’re all getting a lot of value for the money currently. I just can’t picture NF adopting a similar reticle and being competitive on price. They tend to be on the higher end of the spectrum. The long term picture is also a bit crazy, because once all these scope companies move out old inventory and adjust their scopes in the next couple of years to not not lose zero, there’s going to be a LOT of options on the market for hunters.

I will say, per the scope podcast at Hunt Expo, I am highly curious to see what scope they release next year. I know the 2-8 has a lot of interest and should be considerably lighter, but it sounded like that’s a couple of years out so they could build it correctly from the ground up. Not sure what other direction they would go though.

MOA reticle, despite Ryan and Form's protest.

Speaking of Christmas trees, @Formidilosus (or @Ryan Avery) if you were to do one “correctly” what would that look like?

For hunting use, I definitely don’t feel the need to have one.

For gas gun competition use where quick follow up shots at various ranges are in play, I still see a utility in them…but do agree that some on the market now can be too busy.

So is there an “optimal” way to set up a mil tree in your mind?

Of course my next question is going to be…can ya do it? Double dog dare you.

The closest option currently is something like the SWFA MQ V2 reticle, with thinned/smaller lines and dot on the tree. The main reticle is the thickest in the image so that your eye is drawn to it, the tree aspects are thin so that you look past them easily until you want to use it.

Speaking about the tree portion only, the SWFA MQ V2 isn’t a whole lot different than the NF MIL-XT.

I can see where the SWFA might be a little faster to pick up with the thicker outside stadia…but for my context, something like the MIL-XT would be paired with a piggyback dot for faster/closer shots, so I can somewhat mitigate that issue.

Now if you paired the existing Mil reticle you have in the S2H scope (which I think will be even better than the SWFA in terms of speed of visibility) with a simplified tree like the ones above, then I would be very interested in something like that.

Great stuff.

For those of us who already have money down on the first batch, how can we get sets of these caps at the discounted rate?
