Would you buy this scope?

I don't think money was the reason to limit it to 500. They've only tested 3 samples so far. If they did 2000 and there was an issue with them, that'd be a huge problem. I think they want to make sure they are what they seem before they start selling them like hotcakes.
Honestly, we lack the resources to deal with more than 500 at a time. Remember, we are gonna test every scope.

I was spending some time looking at the THLR reticle dimensions now that it's not a rush situation. At first I just saw the center dot was .145 Mil thick and thought, damn that's a really bold reticle. But said, oh well, and went with it anyways.

But it's really not a thick reticle as a whole. That's JUST the center dot. The graduations and wind holds are all in that .06 thickness ranges which really makes sense. Because you're normally only holding the center dot on where you're wanting to hit at relatively close yardages and moderate conditions, or just shooting groups. Anything 600+ is likely to have some sort of wind hold which will be utilizing the more modest thickness portions of the reticle. Even a 1/2 MOA dot can easily be used as an aim point at 1000 yards on a deer. I just thought it was a little unnecessary was all. But in reality, that center dot will almost never be used as the aim point at 1000 yards.

Just something that came to mind is all.

How are some guys legitimately angry? Just use a different scope til they restock. Even if it’s the best scope in the world, it’s not magic. There are bigger problems to worry about.
Because someone will be upset about something no matter what. Form could come down their chimney like Santa Claus and hand it to them for free and they’d complain because it didn’t come with a sunshade they’ll never use.

I don’t get it. Frustrating? Sure, if you’ve been really looking forward to it. There is also another chance coming up in a month. A month on a scope that is 6ish months out best case anyway. Who knows, the first 1000 may end up shipping in the same clear plastic bag anyway.

I fully expect that demand will increase once these scopes get out to the buyers and the level of satisfaction meets or exceeds expectations. Expectations are plenty high, but I was confident enough in the process to get in on the first round. Do I need the scopes, no, but I am looking forward to the durability, size and other features. I planning on a number of hunting trips in the next 5-10 years and I expect that one of these scopes will be on everyone of these trips, barring S2H and ZT coming out with a more compact, lighter weight one that meets my needs. Good job guys.

I suppose it makes you feel better to insult strangers.

I own or have owned all of those. I’m not looking for another of any of them, as the ZT appears to be a significantly better option for a variety of reasons. Time will tell though.

Maybe I’m just frustrated to have suffered through 50 pages of moa vs mil in this thread, only to be surprised by how the pre-order dropped.
Settle down. If you think I was trying to insult you in some way, you’re to sensitive anyway.

I simply ment there are quite a few quality options out there currently. We as consumers shouldn’t have to be online all day watching or kiss a companies ass to buy something from them. Is it an improvement 🤷‍♂️ maybe……enough to make a difference some how probably not.

That's either a high level of confidence, quite a need or a high level of speculation. Good luck

Edited to add: arguably someone could have bought all 500 and secondary marketed them.

I’m sure the resale market is there but by the time you get your scope 3000+ will already be on order. How much extra are people really willing to pay to get one a month or two early?
