Would you buy this scope?

I know you guys are looking for a lightweight backpack hunt scope, but this is going to be sweet to put in a scabbard on a horseback hunt. Those big scopes are a PITA to get in and out of a scabbard let alone dealing with those oversized turrets. Nice!

No matter how good the new scope is, this hurts…

Okay, I just got in from a few hours up some scaffolding in hot sun and feeling dense. What am I missing here - what hurts? Switching to the ZP5 for something and being reminded just how good it is ... or seeing your poor abused ZP5 and realising that's the fate of the RokScope ... or something else?

Someone throw me a bone here.

Removing the ZP-5, apparently a great scope, would hurt. Even worse if it fell on your toe! That thing is massive!

He doesn’t want to take off the ZP5, which is presumably on there right, tight, and sighted in?

Or, however nice the new scope is, he has a soft spot for the ZP5?

All I can think is that ZP5 is gigantic.

Dick joke? 😁

Am I seeing this correctly, that you have your ZP5's parallax knob taped so that it can't be adjusted?

What distance is it set at?
I think it’s taped to mark the correct position for parallax because the factory markings are always wrong. I don’t think the knob is immobilized.

Look Like Hawkins
Agreed, amazing results for drop testing if these rings were used, as I didn't have great luck with them. Even with loktite they wouldn't stay put for me, these were on high recoil light weight rifles however. I don't use hawkins now because of this, perhaps Form figured it out, but with my own degreasing and thread locker, still had reliability issues. Switched to Nightforce rings and that all went away, no thread locker needed.

The ZP5 is fantastic. It hurts to remove it.

It hurts less after shooting it.

What a difference a day makes. Now that Form has bounced all three scopes more than any other scope and they passed the drop test, what's next? Excessive shooting, other abuse, small changes? Or, is it rock and roll time? I wish they were out now because I would have bought two for some new projects. I really like the low profile turrets.
I realize the drop tests indirectly speak to how this will go, but I’m interested in zero checks after bouncing around in the truck for a few days, then a few more days, etc. Vibration is a SOB.

I like the scope rings with the built in level, are you those a prototype as well or in production by someone?

Hawkins.

Hmm I’ve used several sets of them. Were you torquing to a minimum of 25in-lbs on the ring caps?

No. It’s taped so I can mark my own yardages for parallax free distance based on my ocular setting. I do this with most of my scopes- including the S2H soon.
