Would you buy this scope?

I'm sure all that is coming. They've only had this scope a few days and it’s January outside.

They’re already doing testing. Why not just put it in its own thread to reduce clutter?

I’m not asking for anything they aren’t already doing or planning to do.. just asking to have the info they are already gathering put in a locked thread to reduce clutter

What specific optics companies have issues with warranty and customer service, in your experience? What company would deter you?

Some companies don't warranty accidental damage or things they consider abuse, as is their right. Some companies also don't offer a lifetime warranty, as is their right.

I know from personal experience that Bushnell can be a pain the ass. Still, if they had a product that I wanted, I wouldn't let that necessarily deter me.

Some companies also have a poor supply chain model and it takes a very long time for replacement or credit for a different product. (Looking at you SWFA).

Zeiss is a nightmare. Long turn around times and in general terrible communication.

Leica used to be terrible. Haven't used them personally, but in another lifetime of mine, I sold plenty of Leica and warranty issues sucked.

Swfa's whole model I think is trash. If their stuff breaks, which it does, you can be without for a long while, waiting for some container to arrive.

Agree, I would assume the plan is to do the separate, locked thread for the finalized scope rather than the prototype. I'd like an isolated prototype testing thread as well

No idea on ZeroTechs customer service, looks like they do offer lifetime warranty and at least have a Canadian distributor.

Interesting company, seem to have some really great stuff (like their 15x56mm ED binos) along with some headscratchers (lower-priced scopes that look decent, but are mil/moa, like this).

Good OEM relationships, but strange product mix. RS/S2H has some ideas on how to fix that, could be a very productive relationship. Bravo.

Also, orange ring goes nicely with RS Green.

Seeing it is likely a Zerotech has me excited.
Not because I've had much to do with them, but because there's already an established dealer in New Zealand so theres a reasonable chance of getting one of these without too much hassle

Those 0.1 mrad hashmarks will be a single blur in twilight/under stress.

Remove .1-.2-.3-.4-.6-.7-.8-.9
That will leave whole and half.

It also makes it possible to trade off hashmark line height and gain significantly larger numbers.

Simple changes that makes a noticable difference for the shooter.

I totally agree with the turret marking. This turret has the second rev marks covered with tape and the first rev .1 marks blacked out with sharpie. So so much easier on the eyes.

I will gladly buy another 3-15 SWFA. I will probably sell my RS1.2, or put it on an NRL build (since the Minox THLR isn't getting made any more supposedly).

Would be cool if S2H/Secret Manufacturer made 2 other options after this first one. Something low power, or fixed like a 6x (even though SWFA's are cheap, they're never avail), or something for the NRL/LRP crowd in a 5-25x50 or 56.

From what I understand there are two branches to their gear lines. The higher tier stuff is Japanese manufactured and finished in Australia, the lower tier stuff is Chinese.

For everyone that is so concerned about who the partner is in the scope...

If the scope delivers everything you asked for and more, and meets your expectations based on Forms testing, at the price point that you're willing to invest...

Why does it matter who the partner company is?

If they never reveal who it is, are you NOT going to buy the scope?

If it's a company you don't care for... Are you Not going to buy the scope? Even after it's proven?

I'll take one of the prototypes that Form bounced of the ground 45 times. At retail price, no waranty, and you can grind the scope company name off the tube with dremel. I can pay in cash, gold, or silver!

I'd like to see/touch the scope before answering, but the concept is interesting.

The best warranty is always going to be a product that doesn't break, which is one of, if not the, primary benchmark for this scope.

But on top of that, the company we're pretty sure is supporting it has a reassuring warranty policy. I've never had to interact with their CS, but the policy makes it seem pretty unlikely to have a hard time with them.

No doubt. All that concern seems erased with company chosen and parameters of this scope.
Given the choice tho, if things are equal on build quality I will learn toward the company with good customer service and company integrity or reputation as the decider.
Look at Maven for example, they build 1 scope that works and deny the fact that it's internals are different from their others. Dismissing the results of testing all together. They can pound sand in my book.

Maven’s CS is lousy. Both times I called with questions I got either outright lies, or someone speaking without proper knowledge.

I understand what you are saying with that picture, but you are in the extreme minority of people. One of the things that people have consistently commented on is the numbering and marks being so visible.
