Would you buy this scope?

Looks pretty similar to the version in the LRTS, is it larger than that?

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one. This scope is not built on the LRHS/LRTS system though.

Assume my ZP5 worked correctly and I am shooting past 300 constantly. Which one is on your gun?

The ZP5 THLR is the best dedicated LR scope I have seen.

That rifle is the size of a Red Ryder BB gun.

I zeroed it on 18x two minutes before legal light (30min after sunset).


Two minutes after legal light- 32 minutes past legal sunset.

3x. The pine trees are approx 150-175 yards.

No but for some it will fill a need. I won't use anything else but the Atacr. My eyesight is bad so I need the best glass possible.

Wasn’t intending to imply it was (that’s 4x anyways) just looks similar and you were noting you didn’t usually see that so I mentioned it for convo:

There’s already been significant discussion of a 2-8x36. Substantially different than the current offering. I don’t see how they couldn’t get this under 20oz, maybe significantly under 20oz. And many of us shoot to 600+ with 8x magnification. It’s the “everything you need, nothing you don’t” scope.

I hear you. It seems that they got talked into doing a 3-18 over a 3-12/14 for a reason, my guess a pretty significant reason in the manufacturing. Probably were able to use some existing parts instead of building from ground up at cost.

Sort of. The history of what happened during development is interesting. They have made very large advances in 5x and 6x erectors in the last two years or so.

That’s what I figured. I went all the way up to 10x and hated it, even in alpha glass. I have found 6x to be the sweet spot personally, so was pleasantly surprised when y’all did too.

@Formidilosus - how is the balance with this scope on a Rokstok? Weight seems to be similar to the Maven RS1.2 and that one seems to make the rifle a little forward heavy feeling (to me at least).

I am guessing it will depend on a lot of variables, including barrel length, barrel weight, muzzle device/suppressor, and where your scope is mounted.

Edit - @benconfused, I missed that you were asking compared to a Maven RS1.2. Sorry.

Okay ... so you know that I've been a supporter of this project from the beginning (and, for the new folks, even stated a thread in Sept 2023, a year before Ryan started this one, to 'scope out' which existing models people would want to see the THLR reticle put in - https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/which-scope-as-a-new-host-for-the-thlr-reticle.326711/)

But that post right there physically made me smile ... I probably don't need to know anything else.

This is exactly what we needed.

Curious if Maven is adjusting their sals projections for this FY? Should be a no tariff price decrease coming soon to capture revenue before the bottom falls out. Between the S2H and NF offerings I would expect a market share decline. Capitalism is good.

29 mils is what they will advertise. The one I just checked had 31 +/- mils.
