How about rimefire though? That looks like it might be a pretty killer rimfire hunting scope as well, but my understanding is the parallax is much more critical?

Define rimfire hunting? Everything that I hunt with a rimfire, if I'm screwing with parallax adjustment before every shot, I ain't killing shit. . If your eye is centered behind the scope correctly, parallax isn't really an issue other than on really close range targets looking a little blurry. If you're using a rimfire in "hunting" situation where you aren't roaming around, you're stationary from a position like praire dogging, I guess I could see wanting to adjust the parallax.

I don't even like parallax adjustment on a scope for centerfire hunting, but I'm not shooting past 500yds

These german #4 style 3-post reticles remind me of an artificial horizon from aircraft instruments:


I think having the open top half FOV is really nice, and there's some kind of visual effect where this type of reticle makes me feel like I'm cupping the target with my hands or something weird haha. Hard to articulate but that's my best shot. Also maybe helps visually level things better than a full 4 post design? The SWFA top bold post is kind of a strange choice when you compare side by side.

My current scope is fixed at 50, and I have avoided upgrading it because the other scopes were fixed at 100.

It honestly varies by the manufacturer. Some set rimfire at 50, some 60, some even 75 yards. Some 100 yard scopes will look a little out of focus at closer ranges like 25 or 30 yards. Some aren't as bad. Vortex Diamondback scopes look fuzzy at close ranges, the Burris Fullfield II and Droptine's don't seem as bad. Neither does a Vortex Viper 2.5-10 HS.

Can we shut up about parallax? Im following this thread for updates on the scope and every notification I read is people crying about stupid shit that doesn't matter. Really makes it a hassle to sort through the garbage.

Ryan and Form — they routinely poke fun at all the tacticool stuff. I sincerely doubt they thought, “let’s build a dedicated hunting rifle the tacticool people would never use…. But we’ll use a specific unit for a meaningless feature to attract them.”
