Would you buy this scope?

Have not gone through the 1600 posts on this- for clarification- this is a 30 or 34mm tube? Thx

Def agree with majority- branding should be invisible as possible. Let the turret cap font and look speak for itself and “be the branding”

It was changed a long time ago. The reason was because I modified/improved erector and optical system was offered, and it was a 3-18x system- if we wanted to keep it a 3-14x as it originally was going to be, it would just have a mechanical stop to the magnification; so no advantage at all. All optical performance aspects are supposedly improved with this design than the original.
I’m late to the party so I apologize if this has already been addressed, but how usable will the reticle be at 3x?

If compromise is needed for the FFP reticle, I'm hoping the compromise is at the high end of the zoom range (15-18) and optimized for the originally intended zoom range.

I agree with most regarding aesthetics, a different logo is needed. A riflescope should be made to look as timeless as possible. I do really like the idea of a little green ring though.

I'm just teasing, but I've never liked the silver finished scopes in general. Maybe on a novelty setup.
Yeah, I completely get it. They weren't popular even when they were around. But I have a stainless tikka in a green stockys stock that would be just incredible with this on top. (Except for the tongue in cheek "form approved" text)

If the elevation turret doesn't spin freely in a light breeze, this new scope will completly eclipse the RS1.2!
Tiny strip of electrical tape on the inside of the maven turret fixed that for me.
I also have orings that will make them stiff as an SWFA if you care to have some.
It is annoying but overcomable IMO

I'll have to try the strip of tape on the Maven. I like the scope but I've noticed it moving more than any other turret I have.

I'm only half joking. Why do all scopes have to be black? It would generate a lot of buzz at the range

There's even a gold ring on it.....

or a bright blue elevation turret...

would aim for as incognito as possible so to NOT draw attention, from folks or critters lol

S2H
F1 OG-V

V for variable, OG for Rev1, then can go to R2, R3, as more models come along down the road. Like a fixed 6x42 then OG-F and so on...

95% of vehicles are bought based on looks, we bipeds aren't very smart, but marketing people smart enough to know we aren't that smart lol

so it's prolly gonna have to 'look good' where a bunch of us here could give a shat what our vehicles or scopes etc. 'look like', in case it doesn't do well I wouldn't want it to be easily seen from a distance, if gotta be bold the thing has to be the shizzle

and x100 on what's the other reticle? will it cover off the reticler crowd?

look forward to the eval

This is going to be a thing for some for sure. People expect some magical things from scopes, and delude themselves into seeing what they want to see- reference March scopes, and in my experience ZCO. The half dozen Marches I have used have all been- not just underwhelming form the magical side, but just objectively underwhelming as a base aiming device. The ZCO’s I have seen are fine and good to look through, but aren’t anything noteworthy in regards to the other “alpha” scopes- yet people fall all over themselves acting like they are magic.

This scope, if it does what the goals were outlined; will be utterly “normal”. That was the goal- a scope that you mount, zero, and never think about again. A complete none issue. The best compliment will be if people say- “yeah, it’s exactly what a scope should be”.
I completely agree with this. Never had a March. However I did buy ZCO new, used it awhile and my biggest impression was its nice but what's the big deal? Sold, for what I paid, and turned it into a Zeiss LRP S3, which functionally and optically is indistinguishable to me from the ZCO, and a Leica Amplus 6 with a 56mm objective, that is so bright it hurts to use it in bright sunlight. 2 for one to fill specific purposes.

Frankly the S2H scope from a form (no pun intended) factor exceeds my expectations. Assuming the durability proves to be there I'm in. Given that it is being built by LOW eye relief should be fine, certainly choosing the right items from their menu provides that possibility. Big question is hopefully it is being built ignoring Swaro's expiring patent and the field of view will be great.

Count me as one of the people that would pay extra money to not have branding on it.

Also count me as someone that would be super excited about buying an "underwhelming scope".

I know people complain about anything and everything, but there is good reason in the scope world. It's full of stupid reticles, terrible eye boxes, inability to hold zero, reticle sub tensions so thin they are useless without illumination, etc. They seem to love putting cost into useless areas to ignore core functionality.

How happy I would be with a "boring" scope with basic fundamental features that just works is unfathomable.
