Would you buy this scope?

Realistically hunting in my part of the country shots under 100 yards are more common than those over 2 and a 400 shot is a real unusual situation.

A 223, RS light, and a nice sub 20 oz (maybe getting close to 15 oz) scope gets real attractive.

For me the Trijicon accupoint 3-9 13.4oz ~$500 is king of the whitetail woods.

After doing a tiny bit of looking it does not appear that any Schott rifle scope glass is made in China.

No doubt. And what a bonus on top of a great rest of the package.

I'm hoping that people won't read about Tract's use of Schott glass and think that means Tract is somehow superior to this scope - or that glass is the most important consideration.

If you have noticed, Form and I don't really care if the masses want it; if we want it, there are enough other people who will want it.

The scopes will be 3-18x44 sub 25oz and DURABLE. The reticle will be a hunting reticle, not a tacdafag reticle—low profile turrets with an elevation turret that stays put with a price tag that won't break the bank. The Maven has come the closest, but IMO, no scope has put this all together yet.

All that would be great! I am just wondering what you can do to spec out a different manufacturing process to make the scope more reliable than say a Tract or Maven using the same internals by the same manufacturer and not ending up with the weight of a Nightforce (or the crappy Nightforce reticles). Achieving this will yield a great product, I am simply curious as to how, which would lead me to wonder why all the other brands that use Light Optics don't do it.

Legitimate question after listening to this weeks podcast, not throwing shade at all. Perhaps this is already buried somewhere in the 76 pages above. The scope is being built by Light Optics in Japan. Internals will likely be almost identical (if not idential) to the Tract 2.5-15 and the Maven RS1.2 (which are basically identical internally), both use good glass. Other than being 3-18 and likely a different reticle (?) how will this scope be different/differentiated?

Last I heard, illumination was going to be on it, within the context of center dot that could/would be very dim, so as not to bleed all over the reticle or fry your night vision.

This is starting to sound like a Trijicon tenmile with a different reticle option but without the trijicon CS/warranty department. I hope this is successful and continue to make hunting specific scopes, the glaring hole in the market remains that reliable, <20oz, FFP, 3-12x scope.

Its hard to keep track but how are they pushing the boundaries exactly? At this point, from what I have gathered, they are making Trijicon with a different reticle.

For this scope, better reticle, better turrets, more zoom. Potentially better price point.
