I was surprised not to see this topic posted on here sooner, but glad it finally is.

Friday night 43 year old me saw us play the best international game of my life. When I put my kids (11 and 8) to bed I tried to put that into perspective for them. When I first tuned in I didn't have many expectations, but when the first goal went in I let out a guttural scream pent up frustration turned to relief. At halftime my boy rode his dirt bike around the neighborhood carrying the American flag. It was awesome.

KC has had some of the best TV ratings for the cup in the country, and you can feel the excitement here. My daughter's favorite player is Harry Kane and England are staying just a short drive from where we live. It's here, it's real, it's fun. And I think we have a good chance of making a very fun run. Would encourage anyone on the fence to risk your heart and give it a chance.

All the English do is sing American songs. "So good! So good!" All the good English ended up in America.

Paraguay received a yellow card for flopping last week against the US. I hadn't seen a call like that before. It's a step in the right direction. The theatrics and flailing on the ground looking for a foul have been a black eye on what is otherwise a great sport.

Watched Canada play today. Can’t remember his name but a player for Canada broke his leg. I could hear the snap on the tv. It was gruesome.

Seriously, that's terrible for any player. That can be a career altering injury.

The 2026 World Cup is set to kick off Thursday, June 11, In Mexico. This World Cup will see games hosted in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. If you are a sports fan or have children, attending a World Cup game is a unique experience that may not occur again for many years in North America. Team USAs games are all west coast and the tickets are very expensive (ie USA v Australia cheapest tickets ~1700$ presently; Opener v Paraguay ~1000$ still available). I imagine tickets for some of the later group games with teams that do not have large traveling fan bases will be more...
