Workouts for back country hunt

Other than rucking with heavy weight, what other programs would be good to prepare for a multi day backcountry hunt in NM?
 
Solid weight training program and the stair stepper. All you need.

I lift four days a week and stair step 5-7 days a week.
 
I have come to realize being overly strong is not as advantageous as having solid muscular endurance and cardio. When I am “stronger” but heavier I suffer more on steep hills. Find the right balance for your body type.
