Work Bench & Storage

Interested to see or read what everyone uses for shelving to store gear on and work benches. Could be purchased or home built. I am looking for something to reload on, build arrows and work on equipment.

I have a few diff benches, but for the money, sturdiness, and time saved, the harbor freight wooden one for around $120 is a solid choice. I prob wont be making anymore reloading benches and instead just buy another one or two of these as space allows.

If you can get your hands on some, the steel racking from a Lowe's store is great.
- It'll hold up a lot of weight
- you can make the decking / counter surface out of whatever material you want
- they're free standing & easy to move fully when assembled
- the shelves are adjustable in approx. 4" or so increments
- you can add / move as many shelves as you want
- the Lowe's ones are a nice grey instead of the ugly ass orange ones from HD

Our garage is a wood shop. Wife owns a home decor/ furniture business so with the constant saw dust I got sick of taking my reloading gear in and out just to reload for an hour so I built a dust resistant “gun/bow/reloading shop”. Wanted to keep my gear handy but yet protected. The wood on the door if from a redwood fence the father in law and I tore down 20 years ago. Been moving that wood from house to house for a someday project.

A little spendy but worth the money, newage pro series cabinets, closets and work tops.
I was very impressed, purchased from costco and bought a few extra pieces from newage themselves. Shipped to my place on two pallets, almost completely assembled (had to put on the feet) and they are very well made, solid metal.
I Wanted a buy once cry once type set up That was “modular” and adaptable to my needs. Very satisfied

You could build better, but the newage setup is sheet metal and slick. Not sure the worktop is ideal for reloading,
I have a separate loading bench.

This is my set up as it wraps one corner of my garage. I added some hanging gear to the left side to keep my large hunting items easily accessible and organized.

Are the cabinet bottoms home built or purchased and a wood top put on it? I like the idea since it keeps everything in a compact area when closed up.

The bottoms were store bought. I used 3/4” Oak plywood on the sides and back from the floor to the top for strength.

My BIL just converted his homemade workbench to those Metal rolling cabinets with a wood top at harbor Freight, $250 each or so depending on config. They are pretty nice.

I know this is an old thread, but I'd love to see some more pics of work benches (specifically geared towards gun clearing and maintenance). I'm just finishing up a remodel and I'm going to build myself a little work area in the spare room. Looking for ideas/inspiration. Thanks!
