I’m sure this has been discussed but has anyone ran the two for a season or two and done a side by side comparison? I ran the woodsman and 24” ultra light frame this year and was pretty pleased with it for the most part. I have been curious on the exo. I don’t know anyone that runs one but have read a lot of positive things on them as well.

They are both fantastic set up’s but they shine in different ways. Exo absolutely nailed the layout and organization while staying simplistic. At 3500 its underrated as it carries as much gear as another 5000ci bag I own. The compression system is more like the reckoning where you can independently buckle and tighten down the sides and you have separate front buckles so you don’t loose compression when you attach or detach say a bow or gun. Unlike the woodsman where the straps go from one side of the bag to the other. They’re both stout bags but the woodsman feels more rugged. When strapping odd items like a tree stand I take a little more care with the exo where the woodsman can take more of a beating. Also do some research on the frames, big differences there.

I think SHTF ran an exo on a Kifaru frame. He is a straight up guy so you might ping him.

I have a new Kifaru 24" Tactical frame and have been running a Woodsman on it for a year. The Woodsman is great but lacks some basic needs of a pack. I have added two medium and two large pouches to the side and an OGL. I still find myself wanting a couple full length side pockets with the independent compression straps and small side stretchy pockets.

I know I can get the Reckoning, I just DO NOT want a bag that big. I have owned an EXO 3500 before and really liked the bag, just not a fan of the frame. I love the Kifaru Tactical frame, it is solid as hell. I have ordered a new Exo 3500 bag and all the necessary hardware to attach it to my Kifaru frame.

As soon as all my parts come in I will put the combination together. I hope it turns out like I think it will.

Post up a pick or two when you get it done. I've been seriously debating the same thing. I don't find the Exo frame near as comfortable, and the Kifaru bags in that size range leave a bit to be desired by me.

I sure will. Hopefully in a week or so.
