What's better fitment than Stone Glacier

I’ve got a SO goshawk 4800 2.0. Such a sweet pack, and it does fit me a little better than my stone glacier.

If you hunt in the rain frequently like I do in AK, I think you’ll be very pleased.

Also an excellent pack for packrafting.

I hope the SO bag works for you.
You should try and reach out to stone glacier and ask them for advice. I switched from a SO bag to a SG bag a couple years ago. No good reason other than wanting to try a new bag.
At first I was starting to regret the change because the SG hurt my lower back/hips when it was loaded up with 30-40 pounds. I stopped into the store and they made some adjustments and it fits great now. No pain or discomfort.

Do you recall the adjustments that they made?

Unfortunately I don’t really remember exactly what they did. I know they changed the angle and location of the shoulder straps. I know it felt awkward to wear at first, but now it’s super comfortable.
They did the same thing for my wife. I ordered her a pack. We watched all the online fitting videos. We thought we had it right. We went on a spring bear hunt and she was miserable. Stopped in at the store, and a few adjustments later she loves it.

The SG shoulder straps have a lot of adjustment and it can be tricky to find the sweet spot where the height is correct and they are angled correctly to ride on your shoulders. The lumbar pad also has a decent amount of adjustment (up/down).

In my limited experience if it’s hurting your lower back you have the pack too low on your hips - adjust pad/straps up. If it’s not comfortable on your shoulders you need to adjust the angle of the straps.

I think most people naturally set their packs up too low on their hips and wide on their shoulders to start with - hence the awkward feeling at first.
