My wife needs an outer layer and an insulation layer for this fall. October, high elevation. What are some recommendations? I have looked at first light, and own some kuiu. Neither have specific female coats. Recommendation please!

I assume u have base layers covered? Socks, boots? Gotta keep those sensitive lady parts and extremities warm.

Mid-layer, inexpensive fleece works pretty good.

Cabelas has a line of Woman's hunting clothes. A lot of sales this weekend.

Pants go with the Fist Lite Guide version. My Wife just spent 7 days in them and loved them. For other outer layers look at Sitka size Med or Small. Or if you don't need camo go with a mountaineering company, Mountain Hardware.... Get here the Ghost Whisper Puffy. I also have a pair of KUIU SD pants for the wife while Glassing.

My dislike for KUIU has benefitted my wife. I just give her the stuff to wear then make fun of her:D

My girlfriend wears Kryptek because it's one of the few companies that make clothing in men's sizes that fit her. She wears both the down Aquillo and the Koldo rain jacket. She also owns a couple pieces of King's camo and First Lite for women.

Isn't there a line named Proise (or something like that) and there's at least one other I think - Shockey's daughter might have a line of womens' hunting clothing too ......

AND .... I think Columbia Sportwear purchased Mountain Hardware a while back and I know they make womens' sizing and lines - Just because it's not camo and expensive doesn't mean it won't work perfect for hunting

My wife wears the Prois Pro-Edition Jacket. It keeps her warm and fits well. She got the factory seconds version. Pretty good deal. It's warmer then my Jetstream Jacket. If you are truck camping it's a great option. If backpacking, I'd say it's a little heavy.

Cabelas OutfitHer line of clothing is pretty nice...especially since it's on sale right now...

It's good to see serious hunting clothing made for women now!
