Looking at possibly upgrading to one of these 2 bags this year. I have been running a marmot pinnacle 15 for the last 5 or so years but really don't care for such a tight mummy bag as I am a side/stomach sleeper mostly. Bag would be used in Colorado and Nebraska in September and October. I really like the weight of the terralite, however, my concern is whether the extra room in that bag would possibly make it a colder bag that may not reach much into October. Anyone have much use with these 2 bags? Also, would anyone have any pics of either of these bags compressed? Thanks.

Never owned a terralite but tried one on. It’s huge. I slid into it and got right back out. Way too much room. I’m 6’2” 190 for reference. Settled on the badger for my September October CO bag with no regrets. Roomy enough to bend my legs in without feeling like I’ve got room for another person.

Thanks for that, that is what I was afraid of, I am 5’9,190-200 and like to move around a little while I sleep without getting twisted up in the bag.

I have the Sycamore, looked at the Terralite and as you mentioned felt like there was a little too much room. Very happy with the sycamore, love the rectangular shape and the fact that it unzips all the way which makes it very versatile. I am a restless sleeper and tend to move around a lot as well and have no issues. They don't go on sale very often but if you are patient you should be able to find a deal online somewhere.

I own the terralite, I enjoy it because im a side sleeper and I like to have a leg up. I couldn't stay asleep in a mummy style bag always turning trying to get comfy. this solved my problem. I wish they made it with a lower temp rating as I push the limits when I hunt but I also pack a down hooded jacket incase it gets cold. packs small.

Have you considered getting it overfilled?

That’s pretty much how I feel in a mummy bag. I was thinking about grabbing one of these 2 bags from hermits hut where they offer the overfill. I’d take a slight weight hit but maybe end up with a bag closer to a 20 degree bag with room is my thought.

Check out the Sequoia for a semi rec with 5F temp rating. Getting WM to over fill it will bring it to a 0F if needed. I used my standard fill Sequoia last season for archery and rifle in Montana and slept comfortably every night.
